Ch. 15 "Opening"

                                               Steve POV 

I was in shock, after knowing Jaylynn for months since we found her, she hasn't even attempted to utter a word to me or any of us, 

So to say I was surprised that she finally decided to talk to me would be an understatement, 

"Y-Your the good guys...Right?" She whispered 

I got over my shocked and smiled at her, 

I tucked some of her hair behind her ear,

"Yeah...Yeah we are," I said 

"Jaylynn you don't have to be afraid of us, I promise you nothing is going to happen to you," I said 

She nodded batting her long eyelashes, 

She seemed to hesitate, 

"Ar-are you sure?..." She asked looking around for something or someone to pop out at anytime 

I kneeled in front of her since she was fairly small, it's amazing such a tiny little girl can pack such a punch, I thought 

"I promise you Jaylynn it is safe here, none of us are here to hurt you we are here to help you," I said 

"I want to help you Jaylynn," I said 

She looked up at me even though I was kneeling she was still small, 

Next thing I know she's hugging me,

I froze for a quick second she was on her tip toes, but she was hugging me, 

I wrapped my arms around her careful not to break her, and hugged her back, 

"Come on," I said smiling at her, I stood up with her still in my arms, 

I walked over to the couch, 

And sat down sit her sitting on my knee, 

"I know you are uncomfortable talking.... But what exactly did they do to you there?" I asked 

                                                      Jaylynn POV 

The one question I was dreading, 

"I know you are uncomfortable talking.... but what exactly did they do to you there?" Steve said, 

I looked down looking at my fingers, 

I don't like reliving that, I see it enough in my nightmares, it terrifies me, 

Going back to that place. being treated like that again, 

"It's alright, you don't have to talk about it right now if you don't want to," He said 

I looked up at him confused, 

He was smiling at me, 

"How about I talk to you about me, who I was before the serum and after, how would you like that, kinda like a story," He said 

"Okay.." I whispered 

He smiled even more when I talked, 

I think Steve likes it when I talk to him, I thought 

So I sat on his knee as he told me the story, as I listened intently, 

What he was like before the serum. The war with Bucky, How he was frozen, to the start of the avengers, to finding Bucky, to rehabilitating Bucky, to the avengers taking on HYDRA, 

                                             Bucky POV 

Me, Sam and Nat were walking down the hallway, 

"We need to figure out what the hell they did to that kid," Sam said 

"That kid" "has a name," I said 

They both looked at me, I crossed my arms, 

"Okay besides the point, we need to know what she knows," Nat said 

"Well we can't force someone to talk," I said 

Nat went to talk but I heard other voices, 

"Shh," I said 

they looked at me, we walked in the living room, I hear giggling, 

I see Jaylynn seated on Steve's knee giggling at what he was telling her, 

"And that is how Bucky gave me the code name punk," Steve said 

She giggled covering her mouth with her hand, 

"You don't look like a punk," Jaylynn said 

My eyes widen, 

He did it, he got her to talk I thought
