54-Let Them Down

Annika gasped loudly.

"Mother!" Axel yelled

"What the hell are you doing here Axel?!" Mara yelled

Axel furrowed his brows angrily.

"I'm here for my daughter Devine! It was Annika that said I wasn't a good father! I'm trying to be there for my daughter!" Axel yelled

"What about Alora?! What about her baby?!" Manuel yelled stepping in

Mara stepped back

"Alora is fine she's with the team in France"

"You haven't called her for two weeks! She must've been worried sick!" Manuel yelled

"How dare you come here yelling?!"

"How dare we?! A mafia I built with my blood, sweat and tears! Without the mafia you wouldn't have this mansion Axel! I passed down the throne to you because I saw your potential but maybe I was wrong!" Manuel said

"All because of what?!" Axel yelled

"Alora is missing! Her phone was tracked and located in the ocean! Yet you're here doing what?!" Manuel yelled

Annika gasped and covered her mouth in shock

"Dad! What do you mean?!"

"If you didn't open your big mouth none of this would have happened! Now if Alora isn't retrieved alive–A Lot of things will change!" Manuel yelled

"What's going on?" Lizzie yelled by the stairwell

Lizzie had on the skimpiest shirt and shortest shorts. She rubbed her sleepy eyes as she walked down the steps.

"I'd really appreciate it if you screamed and yelled somewhere else. I don't want you waking up my daughter." Lizzie said smirking slightly

"So this is why you're here? F*cking this sl*t while your pregnant fiancee is missing!" Manuel said as he clenched the weapon in his pocket

"No Father! We didn't do anything except hung out with Devine" Axel said sounding defensive

"You guys are shouting-" BAM!

Manuel shot Lizzie in the shoulder.

"Shut up! I will shout how loud I want! It's me and my wife's mafia! You're nothing but a gold digging b*tch!" Manuel shouted

Lizzie gripped her shoulder and hissed in pain.

"Now you Axel! You better get on a private jet and head back to France now! If you don't you'll end up like Lizzie and I don't mind having my name written on the bullet that will be going into your shoulder!" Manuel said glaring at his son Axel

Axel breathed in and out

"Annika call for the jet" Axel said lowly

"Okay!" Annika said nervously

"Call for the doctor too" Mara added

"I'll get my grandbaby Devine" Mara said walking towards the steps

"I called them to get the jet ready and the doctor is on the way." Annika said

"Also Axel...I'm sorry for calling you a bad father. I know how much that gets under your skin and causes you to act out. I didn't mean it–I was just upset." Annika added

Axel looked at Annika and didn't say a word

"You better explain to Alora's parents what's going on. You promised to tell Alora about them." Manuel said angrily

"I failed" Axel whispered before walking out

"You're staying here in New York to watch this witch Lizzie! I don't know what she's doing here still but she needs to go soon!" Manuel said

Mara walked down the stairs with Devine in her arms asleep

"Let's head to France Manuel!" Mara said

Manuel left with Mara and Devine.

Four Hours Later...

The Santiago's arrived in France four hours later it was dark and the air was brisk.

"Mara please go home with Devine along with the driver and get some rest, okay? Axel and I will go to the beach to see what's going on" Manuel said kissing Mara

"See you at home darling" Mara said before entering the car

"Let's go to the beach son" Manuel said entering another car

The car ride was quiet and awkward. Axel had no idea what to think or how to feel. Maybe this was just to get him back in France he thought to himself. There's no way Alora could be missing right?

Thirty minutes later...

The car finally came to a start and the driver parked by the beach. Manuel and Axel exited the car. The site looked like a crime scene; yellow caution tape surrounded the whole beach, police everywhere and the search and rescue team scattered all over the place.

Manuel and Axel spotted the team members who watched and waited by the scene. Walking towards them Axel felt nervous.

"Manuel! You're here!" Lilith said

"Axel...surprised to see you here" Cedric said sounding unfazed

Lilith looked at Axel angrily as she pulled the ring out from her pocket.

"I found this! It was washed up from the waves." Lilith said

Axel looked down into the palm of his hand.

"The engagement ring" Axel whispered

He looked up at Lilith with a sudden sadness on his face.

"What? Now you're sad! You feel sad! You're gonna cry now huh!" Lilith yelled angrily

"Lilith calm down" Cedric said pulling her into a hug

"This man shouldn't be here! He failed her!" Lilith yelled into Cedric's chest

"Its okay Lilith calm down" Cedric kept repeating

A rescue and search worker walked towards them.

"We're sorry–we haven't found her or anything useful as yet" He said

"What do you mean?" Cedric asked

"We tracked her cellphone using the information you provided us and it was indeed in the current. The current on this beach leads into deep water. So if she did end up being pulled into the current there's a chance she'll never be found" He said

"Don't say that! Aren't you a search and rescue worker! Search and rescue her!" Axel said

"Sometimes we don't always find the victim. We'll continue to search and see but as of right now. I suggest you go home and get some rest and come back tomorrow" He said

"Don't tell me what to do!" Axel said

Lilith threw sand at Axel

"Shut up!" She yelled

"Umm thank you we'll come back tomorrow morning" Manuel said

"Let's just go home" Cedric said
