Chapter starts:

The scene changes as the dramatic music continues and the USS Leyte seen in the distance

Scene changes to the deck

"Flight ops commence. Flight ops commence. Be aware of all prop wash. All hands on deck" The PA man says as men are moving to their positions and indistinct chattering is heard

"Man your stations. Man your stations" The PA man says as we see the carrier island and text appears

"USS LEYTE

OFF THE COAST OF QUONSET POINT

APRIL 1950"

We see a plane slowly moving on the deck as we see Cevoli look into his binoculars

"That's Hudner" Cevoli says

"Mm-hmm" Carol agrees as the scene perspective goes to Tom's plane

"You're on a good approach Hudner. Just keep an eye on the LSO." An officer says over the radio

The LSO is shown signalling Hudner that he should move a little because Tom's plane is shown a little off course. Tom moves his plane a little and it aligns with the carrier's deck.

Tom is near the deck, a while later he lands his plane as it touches the wire stopping it in its tracks. We see Marty, Bo, and Bill on another area.
