- nEW BUILDING WOOOO
- the floors in the new building huRT
- no seriously where are the fatigue mats they've been promising us for two weeks
- when you feel like a borderline member of the family and you hate that you're leaving them this fall
- "did you take your break yet? no? did you bring a lunch? nO? [smh dear child] well you go sit down even if it's just to rest your feet for fifteen minutes"
- literally the aunt of the team, why do the new people act like I know everything [okay fine i kinda do]
- i don't know where anything is in the new building tho
- "yES ma'am, we are so excited to be up and running in this new building! it IS beautiful, yes! Yes, it is SO much bigger!" < [the conversation that leaves my mouth 1357 times per day]
- i think I don't feel like a young adult anymore, i just feel like an... adult?
- all the new team members are beans, I love them
- me, rashly: "i would be willing to do pizzas this year if you think you're going to need that much help on it"
Manager H: oooh you WOULD? PERFECT.
me, internally: "well at least i won't be doing other cafe stuff, just pizzas which I have some mild experience with"
first full day in cafe: *doing five other things and floundering in the midst of the hated learning curve*
me: "why did I-"
- "I'm so sorry ma'am this item doesn't appear to be in our system yet, it'll take me just thirty seconds to add it into the inventory, yes, we're still working out the kinks with this new setup, thank you for your patience" [the other conversation that leaves my mouth 7293 times per day]
- lists for the fruit stand helpers :) BEAUTIFUL LISTS :)
- me on my first day of training a fruit stand assistant: "i recommend,,, making Lists"
- i wanted to write the closing list too... but someone else wrote it... I wish to rewrite it and make it better >.>
- *getting familiar with the new registers* oh so tHAT'S what they meant when they said our old point-of-sale system was ancient
- love love love the big windows by the checkout? i?? get to see floWERS??? SUNSHINE?? ALL DAY?
Bonus: season premiere (May 2023)
- WHY DO WE HAVE TO CLEAN EVERYTHING AND COME BACK TWICE TO CLEAN IT AGAIN AFTER THE CONSTRUCTION CREW LEAVES MORE SAWDUST EVERYWHERE
- concrete dust is literally the worst!!!
- "hey so i mopped/scrubbed/wiped the floor/sink/hood and then i came back to see it was dry and it looks exactly the same as before"
- so not why i applied for this job three years ago
- oh but it's beautiful to see it coming together
