There was one week close to the end of the school year where the juniors traded a week of school for a week in nature. It was tradition and it was supposed to be a blast according to upperclassmen I'd heard when I was a freshmen.

It was the morning of our departure and T was only packing now.

"Are you serious, Timothy? Now? We have to go in like ten minutes!"

"I know! You're not helping!" T said as he frantically ran into the bathroom.

"I'm not trying to help, I'm trying to make you realize how fucking stupid you're being-"

"Boys, boys, let's not fight." Joe came into the room.

T threw a bunch of products into his suitcase.

"Look at this!" I pointed at Timothy.

"Well, if it works, it works, right?" Joe shrugged. He was just happy T was doing better. He was moving at normal speed instead of slow like a zombie. I was just anxious to get out of here and share a tent with Timothy. I'd already arranged it so that we'd be tent-mates.

Don't ask me why I did it, I don't wanna talk right now.

Ten minutes later T was packed and I carried his overly full suitcase down the stairs because that was one thing that hadn't changed: T could barely pick up a leaf.

Joe drove us to school that day since he'd be seeing us off with the other parents. Most people's parents were seeing them off so it wasn't that embarrassing. Though of course my dad wouldn't be there.

I have to admit, I did get those excited tingles in my stomach when we pulled up to school and I saw a huge double-decker bus and lines of parents and kids saying goodbye. I guess I felt the teen spirit.

"You're so fucking weak, Timothy." I grumbled as I rolled both our suitcases to the luggage compartment. By the way, his suitcase was black with white stars all over. Mine was navy blue. Just thought I'd mention that even his suitcase screamed gay. And mine screamed straight. So.

I stowed our bags inside. A nerd tried to get his in before me.

"Wait your fucking turn, dork!" I pushed him aside and continued pushing the suitcase in there.

After pushing aside a few others ours fit perfectly.

"Good job, son." I heard behind me. I froze as I recognized his voice.

I turned around and looked into my dad's eyes. He smiled at me.

"Dad? What are you doing here?" I looked around nervously. I didn't want anyone to see him. Was he off his face again? Wait, how did he even know we were going on this trip?

I looked behind him at T and his dad. Timothy went to talk to Allie and Joe nodded at me.

Fucking backstabber!

"Joshua, I'm so glad to see you. It's been too long." My dad opened his arms for a hug but I just stayed in place.

He gave a sad a smile and put his arms back down.

"Did Joe tell you about this?" I said through clenched teeth. Seeing him made me so angry. Or maybe it just made me sad. I felt my eyes begin to sting.

"Yes. Joe and I have been in contact these past few months. He keeps me up to date on how you're doing."

I glared at Joe. You're a fucking traitor! I thought you were on my side!

"Son, I've been working on myself. I'm getting better every day." My dad reached for my shoulders but I pushed his hands away.

"Don't fucking touch me!" I screamed. All my peers and their parents stared at me.
