cj was waiting in macK's lobby when belle appeared in the elevator in front of him.

he sent her a gesture asking if she was going up. she nodded, and motioned that he could come in. she wasn't nearly as mad at the boy as she was at macK for his antics.

"thanks," he appreciated, stepping onto the lift. the button to the tenth floor was already pressed.

"no biggie," belle returned, leaning against the back railing.

the boy wasted no time for awkward silence. simply because he couldn't take it.

"hey, i'm really sorry about thursday. macK was supposed to hit me, but he accidentally hit you." cj apologized sorrowfully as the elevator door closed and they began moving.

belle looked at cj questionably.

"all i'm trying to say is to not put it on him. he's my best friend, and secretly? i'm pretty worried about him," the boy began, "between me and you? macK has literally no life outside of work. he lives in fear of the weekend. he never drinks, parties, or does any bad things. i just think he could really use a friend."

the girl thoughtfully considered cj's point for a moment. macK didn't seem like a bad person at all, he was just rough around the edges. perhaps after she got back at him from last night, they could be friends.
