"Let's go up to the meeting room. There will be enough space up there and privacy as well as a window where the moonlight will be pouring into the room." Of course, my dad thinks about these kinds of things.

My dad leads the way to the first-floor conference room with me a few paces behind him with Colton. I grab Colton's hand and he willingly takes it and holds it tight. The tingling starts up again, but they strangle felt comforting. It's like my hand was always meant to be in his. They fit perfectly together.

He must be so scared. Going from being a wolf hunter to being thrown in the middle of the pack and now going to be turned into one of us for the night.

"Are you sure you want to do this?"

He gives me a smirk, "What and leave you to go run off in the woods with all of the other guys? I don't think so. Besides, who else is going to protect you?"

All I could do was laugh at him nervously. I've never seen this done before. It's kind of a private thing but I must be here to see how it's done because one day I might have to do it. I really feel like I shouldn't watch though.

As if reading my mind Colton turns to me then, "Will you stay with me please?"

I give his hand a squeeze to let him know that I'm not going anywhere. Then I turn and shut the doors.

Without saying anything my dad lets his claws come out and in one quick motion runs it over his palm. He then offers it to Colton.

Colton lets go of my hand and sadly the tingling stops. The feeling of protection vanishes as well. I know that I shouldn't feel like he could protect me since I'm the stronger of us but when we touch he makes me feel so safe.

He brings my dad's hand to his mouth. After a few seconds he pushes his hand away. He looks right into my father's eyes. "Now what?"

My dad smiles down at him, "Now you will be able to shift."

"Just picture your wolf and will it to come forward. When you want to shift back to human you just must picture your human self, feel your skin being on you again, and you will shift back. Give it a try." I encourage him.

He nods then closes his eyes. I could tell that he is in deep thought. Minutes pass without him being about to shift. "I give up!"

I'm determined to have him run with us. "Dad are you sure you gave him enough?" My dad nods. "Try again."

He tries again and this time only moments pass before anything happens. First you could hear the bones cracking and shifting into place then fur starts appearing. You could tell that he is in a lot of pain. But finally, a solid black wolf with a white tip tail appears where he was standing. His wolf was the polar opposite to mine snow-white wolf with a black tip tail.

"It can't be." I hear my dad mumble next to me, but I am too happy to pay him attention.

"You did it! I knew you could. Try to change back now then we will go back outside ad get ready for the run." I can't wait to shift and feel the wind blow my fur.

Colton shifts back and is smiling from ear to ear. He rotates his arm back in forth to get a feel for his skin again. "That was... wow. I can't believe you guys get to do that whenever you please. That's amazing!"

My dad still deep in thought then turns to Colton. "I have one favor for you since I made this possible. Shift by the side of the house and cover you tail in dirt. Make the white on your tail as dark as you possibly can."

Without asking questions Colton agrees. I make a note to ask dad what that was all about later but don't want to ruin the moment now by asking.

"Come on Mia lets go." Colton says eager to go for our run.
