The birds chirped over the cousin pair residence as the sound of rustling trees could be heard outside their windows. Sat at the dining table were Kang Yeoreum and her cousin, Baek Yejun. With it being a Saturday, the girl was happy to be away from school and it's drama even if it were for two days. Even though the drama with Dohyun had unusually quieted down, for some reason when the other students saw her in the hallway they would avoid her. One pair of students in the higher year had even gone as far as to bow and apologise to her for being in her way.

Trying to break the silence which Yeoreum had enjoyed, Yejun who had been stuffing his face with rice, looked towards his younger cousin who was staring into space.

"Why are you picking at your food? Is it salty?" The older cousin asked, taking a bite of her food. Yeoreum scowled at him as she watched Yejun down the rice in one gulp, "Was that just an excuse to eat my food? Just go get some more."

"So cranky...I was genuinely asking. You seemed out of it recently. Is school fine?" Yejun asked with a seeming worried expression on his face. Yeoreum couldn't help but stifle a smile as she found it funny that even though her older cousin was saying words of care he still managed to slide his bowl infront of her, a gesture that she should refill his plate.

The girl scoffed as she headed towards the kitchen to get a refill, "Yejun...did you already forget how you made me do a plank? My abs still hurt."

Despite being aged nineteen, Yeoreum always seemed to become more sulkier with her older cousin. She had practically grown up with the older boy and so to her, he was like a parental figure.

Someone she could rely on.

At least ever since what had happened to her parents. Yejun was the only option for her since her grandparents no longer wanted to look after either. The pair had always gotten along before what had happened so it was a given.

Throwing her out of her thoughts, Yeoreum realised that she overfilled Yejun's bowl and had taken a few out before heading towards the older boy.

I've been thinking about them more recently.

Yejun took the plate from Yeoreum and had chuckled, ruffling her hair, "You're spaced out again."

"And are you still mad about the plank thing? That happened chapters ago." Yejun tutted. He couldn't help but think that he might have spoiled the younger girl. She had seemed a bit immature at times.

"Yeah yeah...happened chapters ago but it still hurts." Yeoreum retorted, poking her stomach.

"Take that up with the author not me."

"Hmph"

Yejun took another bite from his newly refilled plate when his brow perked up as he remembered something. "That's right!" He continued to chew the food in his mouth before continuing, "Yeoreum."

"Hm?" The girl looked at her cousin, screwing her face as she took note of the rice on his cheek. She couldn't help but wonder why he could never eat without getting some on his face too. "Saving that for later...?"

"Where has Jun been? I haven't seen him in so long. He didn't come to the dojang last time either. He isn't one to skip."

Upon hearing Jun's name her expression is slogjflu dropped. Yet compared to before the feeling had felt somewhat different. The girl couldn't quite tell what the difference was but she felt it. That something was wrong.

Yeoreum knew herself that she and Jun hadn't been hanging out as much recently. At least not enough considereintg they had been best friends for the longest time and her crush of three years. She had been so distracted by Harims case and Dohyun that she had nearly forgotten about him.
