Chapter 3 ( Hogwarts and Padfoot )

The next morning, when Jasmine, James and Lily were having their breakfast, an owl fluttered in through the kitchen window. There were two letters tied to its leg. Jasmine carefully took the letters from the letter, so that the owl didn't get hurt. Lily gave the owl some water. After quenching its thirst, the owl flew away just like it had come. Jasmine started to examine the letters, the first letter she gave to James, then she exclaimed excitedly, reading the letter, " Mum! Dad! I just got my Hogwarts letter! See !" She handed the letters to her mother. Lily checked it: it was indeed her Hogwarts letter. "Congratulations, love." She said, handing the letter back to Jasmine. "Thanks, Mum! Do you think Harry already got his letter?" Jasmine wondered aloud. " I don't think so. Dumbledore just sent me a letter telling us to meet him today in his office at noon. " James answered. With that, their breakfast as well as the conversation they were having had ended. Jasmine went to her room with the letter and kept it in a box that her mum had given her as a birthday present to keep her valuables in it. Soon it was noon and the Potters were in the Headmaster's Office at Hogwarts. They were currently sitting in front of the headmaster. "Albus, you wanted to see us?" James asked. "Yes, as a matter of fact, I did. Jasmine, did you get your Hogwarts letter? " Dumbledore asked, with the same twinkle in his blue eyes. "Yes Professor, I did. Professor, if you don't mind me asking, did Harry get his letter too?" Jasmine asked, not being able to suppress her curiosity. " No, Harry didn't get his letter yet. That is one of the reasons I asked to see you today. Lily, James, I thought you would like to give Harry his letter. What do you think? " Dumbledore asked them. " Of course, why not? " James answered happily. "Now, I would like you to meet someone. Come out, Mr. Black. " Dumbledore called out. Everyone in the room turned to face a man who looked like he had been starved for days with an unshaven beard and dark circles under his eyes. "Sirius! What have they done to you!" Lily exclaimed with shock. "Padfoot, how have you been?" James said hugging the man in rags. 'So this is Sirius Black, my godfather.' Jasmine thought. " Is that Jasmine? " Sirius asked James. He nodded in response. "Hello Sirius !" Jasmine waved at him. " I think we should go today to bring Harry back to us. What do you think, Lily? " James asked. " Yeah sure, the sooner I can get my son out of that torture chamber, the better it will be," Lily replied. "Mum, Dad, can I come with you, please? " "Sure, dear. " Lily replied to Jasmine. "Then what are we waiting for? Albus give us the letter and we'll be on our way." James said, standing up. Dumbledore hands him the letter. "Let's go. Sirius, we'll meet you back at the manor, alright? " James said as they took leave of the Headmaster.  After they got outside Hogwarts, before apparating to the manor for a quick change of dress, James looked at the address:

Mr. Harry James Potter

Cupboard under the stairs,

4,Privet Drive,

Little Whinging, Surrey

    " When they say 'cupboard under the stairs', commented James, "I hope they are referring to a cupboard that has been turned into a very comfortable and nicely furnished bedroom."

"They better be," Jasmine said darkly.

"Well, we will see, won't we?" Lily muttered.
