Jai Shree Krishna
Chapter 3

The soft light of dawn filtered through the curtains, casting a gentle glow over the room as Tiya stirred awake. With a quiet sigh, she turned to gaze at her husband, Karan, sleeping peacefully beside her, his bare back rising and falling with each steady breath. He must have come back home late last night, she thought, a pang of sadness tugging at her heart.

Yesterday had been a whirlwind of emotions for Tiya, consumed by the relentless pursuit of answers. She had spent the entire day scouring LinkedIn in search of Sanjana Mehra, her fingers flying across the keyboard in a desperate bid to unravel the mysteries of Karan's past. And finally, after hours of relentless searching, she had found her—a team manager at a prestigious software company.

A flicker of recognition sparked in Tiya's mind as she recalled her friend Priya's connection to the same company. With determination coursing through her veins, Tiya had wasted no time in reaching out to Priya, her voice trembling with urgency as she pleaded for Sanjana's contact number.

And now, as she lay in bed, her heart heavy with the weight of her decision, Tiya knew that she couldn't delay any longer. With trembling fingers, she reached for her phone and composed a text message to Sanjana—a simple yet fraught with significance.

"Namaste. I am Tiya Shekhawat. Karan's wife," she typed, her heart racing as she hit send. "Could we please meet at the cafe across your office? It's important."

With a deep breath, Tiya pressed send, her pulse quickening with anticipation as she awaited Sanjana's response. And as she lay there in the quiet stillness of the early morning, her mind raced with the possibilities of what lay ahead, uncertain of the path that awaited her.

Tiya's heart raced with anticipation as she checked her phone, her breath caught in her throat as she waited for a response to her message to Sanjana. With trembling fingers, she unlocked her phone and navigated to her messages, her heart pounding with nervous energy.

And then, she saw it—a single message that seemed to leap off the screen, causing her heart to stop in its tracks. "Alright. Meet me at 10 tomorrow," the text read, and Tiya felt as if the world had suddenly shifted on its axis.

Her hands trembled as she read the words again, disbelief mingling with a surge of adrenaline coursing through her veins. Sanjana had agreed to meet her.

A rush of conflicting emotions washed over Tiya—fear, uncertainty.

Despite the heaviness weighing on her heart and the weariness that seeped into her bones, Tiya pushed herself through the day with a determination born of desperation. Each movement felt like a monumental effort, her body aching with every step she took, yet she refused to succumb to the overwhelming sense of fatigue that threatened to engulf her.

With bleary eyes and a heavy heart, Tiya sat at her desk, her fingers flying across the keyboard as she sent out resumes to schools online.

Throughout the day, Tiya forced herself to focus on the task at hand, mentally preparing herself for the difficult conversation she knew lay ahead.

Despite the waves of sadness that threatened to overwhelm her, Tiya clung to the belief that her actions could make a difference, that she could somehow bridge the chasm that separated Karan and Sanjana. Her end goal was clear—to reunite the two separated lovers, to mend the broken pieces of their fractured hearts and bring them back together once more.

And so, with each passing hour, Tiya pushed herself to the limit, her resolve unwavering in the face of adversity.

Tiya couldn't ignore the gnawing ache in her heart, the knowledge that in her quest to reunite Karan with his past lover, she would inevitably shatter a piece of herself in the process. The mere thought of witnessing the man she loved, her husband, in the arms of another woman, tore at her soul with an intensity that threatened to consume her.

With each passing moment, the weight of her decision pressed down upon her, suffocating her with its crushing inevitability. She knew that in her pursuit of reconciliation, she would be forced to confront her deepest fears and darkest insecurities, to lay bare the vulnerabilities that had long been buried beneath the facade of strength and resilience she had carefully cultivated.

The prospect of facing Karan's past love filled Tiya with a potent mix of dread and despair, the realisation dawning upon her that she would be forced to bear witness to the echoes of a love that had once burned bright inside her, now reduced to smouldering embers of what could have been.

But even as she braced herself for the inevitable heartache that lay ahead, Tiya found solace in the knowledge that her sacrifices were made out of love—for Karan, for their shared future, and for the hope of finding peace amidst the chaos of their tangled emotions.

And so, with a heavy heart and a steely resolve, Tiya forged ahead, knowing that the path she had chosen would be fraught with pain and sacrifice, but trusting that in the end, love would prevail, and the broken pieces of their fractured hearts would find solace in the warmth of forgiveness and redemption.

Karan sat in his expensively furnished cabin, the opulence of his surroundings serving as a stark contrast to the turmoil that raged within him. His heart felt heavy, weighed down by the crushing weight of loss and regret. The news of their unborn child's passing had left him reeling, a gaping void opening up inside him that no amount of wealth or success could ever hope to fill.

He couldn't shake the image of Tiya's tear-streaked face from his mind, the pain etched into every line of her delicate features. He knew that she cried herself to sleep every night, clutching the scanned pictures of their unborn child to her chest, her grief palpable in the silence of their shared home.

Karan couldn't help but feel a profound sense of guilt wash over him. He knew how much their baby meant to Tiya, how she had longed for a family of her own, a sense of belonging that had eluded her for so long as an orphan.

And yet, despite his overwhelming desire to be there for her in this moment of profound loss, Karan found himself unable to bridge the emotional distance that had grown between them. The walls he had erected around his heart seemed impenetrable, their icy grip holding him captive even as he longed to reach out and comfort his grieving wife.

With a heavy sigh, Karan bowed his head in silent resignation, the weight of his own shortcomings bearing down upon him like a leaden weight. He knew that he had failed Tiya in her hour of need, that his inability to break free from the shackles of his own emotional turmoil had only served to deepen the chasm that separated them.
