It was a cold, dark and misty night in Little Whinging, on the corner of Privet Drive an owl sat on top of a street sign and a tabby cat sat beside the curb, in the middle of the road stood a very peculiar figure, an elderly man with long white hair and a long beard wearing red robes and a droopy red hat this was Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster.

As Dumbledore stood in the middle of the street he reached into his robes and pulled out his Deluminator a device of his own making and clicked it and the lights of a few street lamps flew towards it as he clicked it shut, he suddenly heard the sound of a cat meowing at him, Dumbledore looked at the cat on the curb and smiled at it

I should've known that you would be here, Professor McGonagall said Dumbledore

Suddenly the cat turned into an elderly woman wearing a green robes and a witch hat, this was Professor Minerva McGonagall, the headmistress

Good evening, Professor Dumbledore said Professor McGonagall

Professor Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall walked down the street together, they were here tonight for something important as they walked together they struck up a conversation about why they were here

Are the rumours true, Albus? asked McGonagall

I'm afraid so Professor, the good and the bad Dumbledore answered

And the boys? asked Professor McGonagall

Hagrid is bringing them Dumbledore answered

Hagrid was one of Dumbledore's most trusted allies, while he trusted him with this important task Professor McGonagall had her doubts about this

Do you think it wise to trust Hagrid with something as important as this? asked Professor McGonagall

Ah Professor, I would trust Hagrid with my life Dumbledore answered

Suddenly Dumbledore and McGonagall heard a sound and looked up to the sky to see a bright light coming down from the sky, it turned out to be the light of a motorcycle flying down the sky and as it came down to the ground and stopped in front of them, the person who was driving was a giant of a man, he had long bushy hair and a beard that covered his face, he looked big and tall but he was sweet and kind, this was Rubeus Hagrid, the gamekeeper, in Hagrid's care wrapped in blankets were two baby boys.

Professor Dumbledore sir, Professor McGonagall greeted Hagrid

No problems I trust Hagrid? Dumbledore asked

No sir, little tykes feel asleep just we were flying over Bristol, try not to wake him said Hagrid

Hagrid handed one of the babies over to Dumbledore, this baby who was sleeping soundly had a lightning bolt shaped scar on his head, as Dumbledore carried him they then started walking over to one of the houses in Privet Drive, the house with the number 4, this was where the first baby was going to stay with his relatives, The Dursleys which included his Uncle Vernon, Aunt Petunia and their son Dudley, Professor McGonagall had watched them the entire day, and saw they weren't exactly the nicest people or the most understanding, she had her doubts about the boy staying here.

Albus, do you really think it's safe leaving him these people? I've watched them all day they're the worst sort of Muggles imaginable, they really are said Professor McGonagall

The only family he has said Dumbledore

This boy will be famous, there won't be a child in our world who doesn't know his name said Professor McGonagall

Exactly he's far better off growing up away from all of that, until he's ready said Dumbledore

And what of the other? asked Professor McGonagall
