chapter 3: His Hazel green eyes

My soul nearly left my body when i opened the door to a pair of Hazel green eyes in front of me.

"Lance, what are you doing here" i asked trying to play it cool.

" oh Tianna, stop questioning the poor boy and let him in" said my Ma as she made her way to us.

" Good Morning Mrs Brown, I stop by to drop of the wages for the eggs my dad ordered yesterday" he said formally while handing my mom the money

" Mr Butlers, Good morning, my husband had to do an early errand this morning so he didn't fetch the eggs from the pen" my apologizes

" I'll get the eggs Ma, and his name is Lance not Mr Butlers" i said as i grabbed a fresh carton

" Tianna! How could you, my apologies for my daughter's manners Mr Butlers" said my mom as she lowerd her head in embarrassment.

Ma was always strict when it comes on to treating white people with Respect. She always says to be polite even if they are not polite.

It felt weird having Lance in my backyard. I told him to wait till i get the eggs but he insisted on following me which i didn't mind of course.

I went into the shed, and tossed him a pair of water boots. He looked confuse

" You can't wear those in the pen or you will get hen poop all over it so put those on" i said while getting chicken feed for the hens

" oh ofcourse, thank you" he said

I then handed him the tray with the feed and he looked even more confused.

" So this is the plan, the hens will be sitting on the eggs so to avoid being bitten you will sprinkle the feed and I'll snatch the eggs ok" i said realizing the worried look on his face

" Don't worry you will be fine" i said to reassure him.

" when i count to 3 you will sprinkle the feed 1,2-" and before i said three he sprinkled the feed and then hens came rushing to him

" hey!, what happen to three" i said realizing he is struggling but at the same doing a decent job.

" You don't have much time I'm almost out of feed!" He shouted as one of the hens jump on him

I laughed, oh right the eggs. I got two basket filled with eggs. And as i walked out the pen i realized that Lance was laughing while they ate freely out of his hand. I never saw that side of him before, it felt unreal as i stood in the door way and watched him.

" wow that's alot of eggs, they look so good" he said as he got up and ran to me with a smile on his face.

" what are you doing Tianna!, how  could you have Mr Butlers do your work" said Ma as she took the baskets from me.

" Go let him watch his hands and change his shoes, I'll get the eggs ready" said Ma as she walked off angrily

" I'm fine you don't have to" Lance said as he turned on the pipe and washed his hands.

I realized that a feather was in his silky brown hair.

" oh wait, you caught a feather " i tipped in my water boots to remove the feather and our eyes met each other, just as how they met on his first day of school

We looked each other dead in the eyes before i lost my balance and fell in his arms

I felt a wave of heat running through my body as his wet chicken hands embrace me to his chest.

Somebody help cause i feel like I'm about to explode.

I heard Ma's loud foot step approaching us so i quickly stand to my feet and pretend like i was helping him.

" Mr Butlers here are your eggs, sorry for the delay and the trouble" said Ma as handed him the eggs

" Thank you Mrs Brown, and your daughter forced me to feed the chickens, have a good day maam" said Lance as he winked at me and went on his way

" You did what!" Shouted Ma as she grabbed me by the ear and pull me in the house

" He's lying Ma can't you see , ah-ah" i said  begging for dear life.

I can't believe he said that.

4pm afterschool Agricultural room

" So we are planning and doing a bake sale and if you all could contribute an home goods that would be great" said Xander as he discusses the project

" I can bake and bring biscuits, and wine made from our Berry farm" i said realizing that Lance was suddenly at the door

" ok that's Tianna contribution, Lacy,Jacob, and Grace i need to know what you all plan on doing by the end of the week you are dismissed" said Xander sounding like a teacher

" Oh, Lance, is something up?" Asked Xander

" Nah I was just wondering around" he said as he looked at me

" how is your ears chicken girl" he asked as he laughed

" dude come on bro, there is no bullying girls policy remember" said Xander as he tossed Lance the Keys

" you comming Tianna, you can ride with us today" said Xander as he looked at me while i packed up my things.

There's no way I'm getting in a car with those two. I can't my Ma would kill me

" no it's fine i can take the bus, goodbye " i said as speedily walked out of the room.

This was going to be a boring trip back home without Lance. And as usual i feel asleep on the bus.

" hey kiddo, it's your stop" said Charlie as he woke me up

" geez thanks charles good night" i said as i get off the bus.

I then realized a Strange shadow walking behind me.i started walking faster and so did the Shadow

I pulled the sharpest pencil from my bag and threaten the person behind me. I then realized it was Lance

" Geez Lance, i could have killed you. You know " i said as catch my breathe

" with a ruler" he said as he took it from my hands

I thought i pulled out a pencil. Geez this is embrassing.

" what you doing out here anyway" i asked as we walked home

"None of your business" he said while he mimics playing a drum with my ruler.

" Give it back" i said as i snatched it from his hands.

I was almost at my gate. I'm surprised we walking side by side at the same pace.

" what type of music you listening to anyway" i asked

He then step aside to open my gate for me.

" goodnight chicken girl, you talk too much" he said as he went on his way.

He opened my gate for me. Oh my god save me. But why was he out this late tho

" Tianna!" Shouted my Ma

Oh no I'm dead
