Ji Baijian finally brought Song Zhizhi home with a deep scowl on his face. She was actually quite glad that he at least did not just dump her on the side of the street.
She rested for the whole day. The next day, she changed into a silver evening gown to attend the engagement party of the Xin family. Her family were all dressed up. Yi Wenhan was also present.
He was wearing a set of rather expensive black suit with a dark blue tie. His hair was combed neatly. His figure was slightly on the thin side, but fortunately the clothes were cut perfectly. It instantly transformed Yi Wenhan into an elegant and refined member of high society.
Song Zhizhi stole a few glances at Yi Wenhan, but not because his transformation made her heart flutter. She was just thinking, it looked like Nie Wenzhi could not hold back any longer and was planning to unleash Yi
Wenhan.
Yi Wenhan felt Song Zhizhi's gaze. He smirked inwardly.
He knew Song Zhizhi was a shallow woman. She would still pay attention to him as long as he make some changes. He would never believe that Song Zhizhi did not love him sincerely those years they were together. At most, she was just confused by the sudden appearance of Ji Baijian. In the near future, he would showcase his ability, and Song Zhizhi would definitely regret it and want to throw herself into his arms again. When the time comes...he would definitely torment Song Zhizhi and make her life worse than death!
At that moment, Nie Wenzhi asked everyone to get into the cars.
Nie Wenzhi and Song Shan shared a car, while Song Zhizhi, Nie Xiaofei and Yi Wenhan got on another. The inside of their car was relatively quiet. Yi Wenhan suddenly broke the silence, 'Zhizhi, we're still friends, right?" Song Zhizhi looked at Yi Wenhan. What was this guy playing at?
Yi Wenhan smiled and continued, "Didn't we agree before that we can still be friends regardless of what have happened?"
"Of course. Not only are we friends, when you get married to Xiaofei, we'll even be relatives," Song Zhizhi said deliberately.
Nie Xiaofei's expression visibly changed a little when she heard the words "get married". She kept having a feeling that Song Zhizhi was mocking her. But Yi Wenhan remained at ease. He smiled and said, "I'll be in your care in the future."
"Likewise," Song Zhizhi replied.
She did not know why Yi Wenhan was suddenly trying to make peace, but she knew that he definitely harboured ill intentions. She needed to wait and see what would happen.
She coped with Yi Wenhan the whole ride. The car soon arrived at the destination.
The engagement party of the Xin family was naturally a grand affair. Dozens of media members had long gathered at the entrance ot the high-class hotel. The instant the Song family climbed out of the cars, countless cameras flashed. "Chief Song, are you here for the Xin family's engagement party too?"
"Old Xin and I are old friends. Of course I will come congratulate him for the happy occasions."
"Can Chief Song offer some words of blessings for the two would-be newlyweds?"
"I hope they will be able to grow old together holding the hands of their children."
The reporters wished to ask more questions but Song Shan had already led his family inside.
The very moment right before they stepped inside the hotel, a particularly shrill voice could be heard yelling, "Yi Wenhan, the Versace suit you're wearing is the latest limited edition and is really expensive. Isn't it way above your pay grade?! Seems like you're benefitting greatly from associating with the Song family! "
