Chapter 48: Incident Starts 5 - Does Ji Baijian still trust me?

Song Zhizhi walked into a bedroom in the guesthouse.

After taking a shower, she pulled out her cell phone to make a call.

The only person who could help her at the moment was Ji Baijian.

She had asked for his help numerous times and would repay him in the future. Those who wronged her would surely meet their doom! The law of the universe would certainly repay his kindness with immense generosity.

The call was connected, and the familiar voice on the other end remained indifferent, "Miss Song."

'What are you doing?" Song Zhizhi asked.

"Reading the news," Ji Baijian replied, adding, "Your news."

"What?"

"The news about Miss Song's jealousy leading her to betray her own stepsister is stirring up quite a storm. How could Miss Song not know about this?" Ji Baijian sounded sarcastic.

Without uttering a word, Song Zhizhi promptly hung up.

She had thought that these news stories would not be exposed with her father's influence. Underestimating the situation had been a mistake.

She quickly went through the news on her phone. All the headline news was about her. It made her seethe with rage. It said she was envious of Nie Xiaofei who was pregnant with Yi Wenhan's baby and so, she tried to kill her. It stated that she married Ji Baijian solely for financial gain and deep down, she was still in love with Yi Wenhan. The video of her kiss with Yi Wenhan was also there, sans any context. It just looked like a deep, romantic kiss. Coupled with the perceived intimacy between Yi Wenhan and Song Zhizhi at the Xin Family engagement party, it confirmed the fact that they were still entangled romantically!

She had to admit, she was shaking with rage because of the news and harsh remarks about her.

She threw off her blanket, didn't even change out of her pajamas, and stormed out the door.

In the guesthouse's parking spot, she drove off to Ji Baijian's apartment. Her only bet was that Ji Baijian was present.

With a rush of adrenaline, she reached Ji Baijian's apartment building. She took a deep breath and rang the bell.

Thankfully, the door opened. Ji Baijian was in a white robe, looking languid. He raised an eyebrow and said indifferently, "What brings Miss Song here so late?"

Song Zhizhi didn't respond; she simply dashed into Ji Baijian's apartment without even taking off her shoes.

Ji Baijian frowned but still closed the door behind her.

Meanwhile, in Nie Xiaofei's room at Song Family's mansion, Nie Wenzhi looked at the messages on her phone and commented sarcastically, "At this time, Song Zhizhi has gone to Ji Baijian."

"This shameless woman, after all this, she still has the audacity to find Ji Baijian." Nie Xiaofei said viciously.

"Ji Baijian is her last lifeline; of course, she would desperately cling to him," Nie Wenzhi said coldly, "But it's uncertain if Ji Baijian would continue to support her!"

"If I were a man, I would sever all ties with her. Going to Ji Baijian is just asking for humiliation," Nie Xiaofei said viciously.

Nie Wenzhi smiled evily.

Enough of Song Zhizhi! It'S time for her to get a taste of her own medicine!

In Ji Baijian's apartment, Song Zhizhi sat on his couch, and Ji Baijian sat on the one furthest from her, both of them in silent anticipation.
