DEFEATED

"OUTSOURCING is the practice of hiring a third party to help complete certain tasks or perform services for a business. Kumukuha kayo ng mga empleyado sa ibang kompanya that fits the ability to perform that task."

"On the other hand, insourcing is the opposite of outsourcing. Insourcing is the process of assigning a task or project to an individual or a team within the company, instead of hiring an outside organization just like the outsourcing." She continued.

I take note of everything Ms. Mendez said. Slowly, my eyes glanced at the side. It's been two weeks since that annoying guy, Klevios transferred.

He was just staring straight in front, looking bored. He had that 'I don't give a fuck' look. Mali talaga niya yan if he use violence against someone. I heard some rumors circling about him too. I can't tell anong totoo dun, but in these past weeks, I never heard him recite in class, maybe the former was true.

"Which do you think is best when running a business, outsourcing or insourcing?"

The class went silent when Ms. Mendez asked a question. I roamed my eyes in the whole classroom.

When I think no one is really going to answer, I confidently raised my right hand.

"Yes, Ms. Valiente."

I heard sighs from relief or frustration, I don't know and I don't care. I have a goal to achieve. I always heard many rumors about me na maldita raw, spoiled brat, mata-pobre, at walang kinatakutan because my Father is the Congressman in our Province, when in fact, ni hindi nga nila ako kilala, how dare they badmouth me, but I just ignored them. Wala. I don't have many friends, tanging si Naya lang at si Cage. They're my childhood friends.

From what I remember, apat kami. All we know about that little boy is his name, nothing else. I don't clearly remember his face too, but I still remember vividly that his eyes were gray, just like the man beside me who was staring at me intently, as if waiting to find wrong in my whole being.

"I think outsourcing would be the best choice Ma'am."

Ms. Mendez nodded.

"Care to explain?" She added.

I straightened my back and lifted my chin.

"Outsourcing allows companies to access specialized expertise at lower costs. It can also improve the efficiency and productivity of operations as your employees can focus on their core functions allowing a third-party to do the task."

Narinig ko ang mga manghang singhap ng aking kaklase at iba pang mga bulungan pero hindi ko ito pinagtuunan ng pansin dahil in my peripheral vision, may hayop na nakatitig sa akin, as if a predator looking at his prey.

"So you're saying, by using the outsourcing method it can lower the costs of your business and have your employees focus on their roles, am I right, Ms Valiente?" Ms. Mendez clarified my answer.
