I've taught myself Brave
because I had to. There was no other way.
If I didn't learn how to be strong, resilient, hopeful and fierce,
I would not be here as I'm today, a warrior women, whose body, mind and soul have survived riptides, under-toes, and tsunamis ;
I survived because I learned to swim, and when pulled under, how to breath underwater and resurface.
I am no longer in darkness,
For I'm the burning bright,
That rises each night ;
I'm my own light...
