The Poor

For what is the food you eat

If you don't share the table with anyone you meet?

For what is the water you drink

If your thirst for love is all you seek?

For what are all the clothes you wear

If the touch you want is never there?

For what is the medicine to heal your disease

If your soul is riddled with wounds and scars?

For what are all the toys you bear

If your happiness in life is never there?

Pity the person who lives on the street

Pity the most the person no one cares about
