Concrit = Constructive Criticism-- refers to a specific type of feedback in which polite, helpful suggestions or edits are offered to improve the quality of a story. Concrit is not a flame, as even though it may contain negative comments as well as positive, the reviewer is generally only interested in providing friendly advice and well-reasoned arguments rather than 'attacking' the author or their work. Concrit can be a very rewarding experience for authors to receive, as it is an excellent way to learn and improve their writing skills, but unfortunately not all authors are ready to accept or appreciate concrit, so reviewers must be careful about what they say and to whom.
