Night Storm
Slashes on my window screen,
Sky fades from grey to black to green.
The leaves turn white and branches shake,
Shadowed earth rumbles and thunder quakes.
A violent wind throws my hair 'round,
As lightning stikes and hits the ground.
I cower under covers tonight-
All oblivious to my desperate plight.
After forever of rain, rain, rain,
The stars come out to ease my pain.
My head connects with pillow to sleep,
As Mother nature concludes her weep.
