The Darkness
Darkness surounds me,
engulfing me.
My eyes-
glinting stars
in a blue- black pool of space.
Beacons of light sweep through the window,
creeping shadows on the wall.
The moon smiles at me,
his stars a kaleidascope
of glinting eyes on my ceiling.
The wind whistles
through an open window,
flutters the curtais,
chills my bones.
Soothes the open wounds
on my aching heart.
Cools my racing mind-
can't slow down.
A blanket pulled closer,
pilow fluffed higher,
door opned wider,
owl hooting louder,
wolf baying prouder.
This
Night.
