The morning air was cold, almost chilling, with a heavy feeling of dew hanging in the air. I breathed it in deeply, filling my lungs with the fresh clean oxygen. A cold air seeped out as I walked through the entrance of the hospital to the reception area.

Daddy took a seat at the seating area while I went to the reception counter. "Hi, I have an appointment with Doctor Kenny." I greeted the receptionist lady aged early 30s with a smile.

"Hold on." She began keying the letters into her computer's search engine. I took this moment embracing the surrounding of the reception area. Some doctors with their stethoscope around their neck walked past this area to their patients room. My eyes roamed searching for a familiar face.

My thoughts had been interrupted when the receptionist spoke to me. "You may go to Doctor Kenny's room, B102. You can take the alevator to the second floor, turn right and his room is at the end of the corner"

"Thank you-" I paused, took a glance at her name tag. "- Miss Claire." I said, my lips are pressed together and forming a smile.

The appointment took quite a while to checkDaddy's health conditions, but Doctor Kenny made the appointment to ensure that the heart attacks won't happened again in the future. After all, we chose him because he have experienced in this field and one of the best doctors in the city.

I walked around the hospital trying to occupy my time. Without realizing it, I was at the reception area again. My mind wandered and got lost in thought about James, the doctor. I approached the reception counter and asked for him.

"Do you have an appointment with him?"

"Err, no." I stammered.

"Sorry Miss, but you need to have an appointment to meet him."

"Okay thanks."

I sat silent on the bench of the reception area, thinking of an idea on how to meet him. After a few moment, I quickly stood up and walked to the doctors room area. The only way to find him was to looked for his room and I was pretty sure that it will worked. My pace was slow as I was looking up at the name written on each door until a name caught my attention 'James Patterson'. Slowly, I raised my right hand and steel myself to knock on the door. I knocked three times, but there was no one answering from the inside. After my failed attempt to meet him, hesitatingly I turned around and started to walk out of that area when someone call my name. Who could it be now? I instantly turned my head in the direction where the voice came from.

"I haven't meet you for quite some time." The man who I wanted to meet shrieked as he walked towards me with a smile on his good-looking face.

"Hey." I had to bite my lips, struggling to hide my emotions but I did my best to keep smiling at him.

"What are you doing here? Looking for me huh?" James smirked cheekily.

It would be too obvious if I say yes even though I really loved to admit it, but that would be too easy for him. I avoided myself from saying the truth and use my specialty to change the subject. "Sending my dad for a check up." I said, shyly.

"So how are you?" He asked while adjusting his coat and balancing the stethoscope around his neck.

"Good! And you?" I asked, curiously.

"Actually I've just finished my works and do you want to grab some-" Our conversation was interrupted by the ringing of my phone.

"I was looking for you but you're not around, and I have an urgent meeting at the office so I asked Karl to pick you up."

"But I-" Daddy ended the call before I could say anything to him. What's the matter with him? And why Karl?

"It's my Dad. He sounded so fishy and asked the guy that you have met before to pick me up." I winced, my brows furrowed in confusion.

"What are you going to do now?" James concerned, crossing his arms over his chest. He seems interested to know my next steps.

I shrugged my shoulders and shook my head potraying disbelief. "I don't know. Maybe I should call him now. So I'll see you later and you have my number right." I chuckled teasingly as I started walking along the hallway.

"Yeah, I have yours. And you know what, I'm getting used with the way we met and I'm pretty sure we will meet again soon." He chuckled playfully while blinking one of his eyes as he entered his room.

"Yeah, I hope so." I shrieked from the sight of my face that was tomato red before entering the elevator.

A Range Rover parked in front of the main door of the hospital and the driver face became clearer with every steps as I approaching the vehicle. I climbed into the car and Karl drove to the nearby beach without saying a word to me. He silently walked out of the car and leaned his back on the front bumper as I followed from the back.

"I guess this is the perfect time to solve everything that happened between both of us." Karl paused. "I wanted to know your true feelings about me." He mumbled softly.

"I don't want to hurt your feelings, Karl. And you know that, don't you." I tiled my head down looking at my shoes.

He tilted one hand up to my chin and tilted my face up with his thumb before saying, "then, tell me the truth." His eyes demanded an answer and it showed that all this time he was suffering by his own emotions. "If you don't love me, why did you call me when you ran from home? If you don't love me, why did you call me when your dad was admitted into hospital? If you don't love me, why did you text me when you have million reasons for not to text me." Karl added. "If you don't love me, look into my eyes and say it."

I refused to look at him and mumbled, "I don't know what happened to me."

"You don't? Because you know why, you just afraid to admit it. All this time you want to make people around you to be happy, but you forget that you, you Amanda, you also deserve to be happy for who you are." Karl sighed. "You deserve to love and to be loved by a man."

My tears fell down from my cheeks like berries falling down in a garden. Maybe he was right that I love him but I was just afraid to admit it. All this time I was too focused on making people happy but forget that I need my own life too.

I wiped my tears and hugged Karl tightly while whispered, "I love you, best friend."

Like any other stories, it was an ending for their past sad stories and a new beginning for their life while being together. Some people didn't realize about their tue feelings and need someone to make them realise before everything too late.
