Once more, Gabbi was hurled into someone's shoulders. She was warped by the fast speed, her vision blurred and as if her soul left her body. Then she was in front of Damien's room. Gabbi struggled after the sensation of strong wind blew on her face. Up until now, it was hard to cope up with their speed.

"Don't go anywhere, okay?" Tyler said after he opened the door for her. "Be a good girl." He then turned to the bat, who finally kept up, reached them, and dangled on the tapestry bar. "Koro, watch over her, 'kay?"

Gabbi had no choice but to keep herself in. Bored watching the clouds reign, she looked around the room.

As they claim to be for a vampire's room, it was spotless and organized, predominantly adorned, and arranged with style from decades ago. No spider webs nor melted candles; it was non-fictional. Busy from not dying before when she was younger and braver, Gabbi didn't have the privilege to watch and read more books like she used to. However, she isn't ignorant about common myths.

"Vampires, huh..." she mumbled, now staring at picture frames.

Her attention shifted to the line of black frames above the dead fireplace.

Gabbi paused with Damien staring back at her, with a young man's black hair and dignified gaze. He looked so human back then and didn't have the shrouding blank eyes of emptiness like he has now.

And the last frame was facing down. Gabbi picked it up, just to be enchanted by a woman's gaze. She was undeniably beautiful, with a half-smile that could rival paintings. And yet she was familiar—must be of those people in magazines. She couldn't help but admire the timeless beauty of class and innocence.

Before she could dwell deeper to guess her identity, the door slammed open. She almost jumped. The photo slipped from her hand.

"You were right, Corinne, a human," said a small voice.

Two identical children, beautiful as angels, stood before her. They both had black hair, curving and vining down their shoulders, glistening against whatever light, probably their own. She was able to distinguish the genders thanks to the casual clothing. At first glance, they look like school children.

They were beautiful children, exquisite and doll-like. She reminded herself that they resembled his new owner. Gabbi concluded that the children were vampires, too." See?" the girl turned to the boy. "I told you I can sense anything."

"Okay, you win," said the boy. "You get the first bite."

The little girl glanced at Gabbi, then whispered towards the boy. "Will it really be okay?"

"You're hungry, aren't you?"

"Yes, but—the Roșu brothers might get angry."

"No, they won't. Those boys... they wouldn't dare, would they? We are guests."

"Still... her face isn't she..."

"–Drink. She's human. She smells human," he insisted, patting the head of the other. "We'll find out soon if she also tastes human."

"...Yes."

The next thing, the little girl, was already in front of Gabbi. "Apologies."

Gabbi's screams were covered by the boy's tiny, powerful hands as she fell backward to the floor. Despite the body of a child, he was strong. Same as the girl who sat on top and sunk her teeth at the side of Gabbi's wrist. It was as if someone was sucking the heat from her body.

But it was only a few seconds when the girl froze with a pained expression. She crawled off Gabbi. "Al... she is..."

"What's wrong?" The boy was already beside his sister.
