When you look at the mirror
Do you see what you pretend to be, or the person behind the mask?
When you look at the mirror
Does the smile stay...or... does it never seem to last?
When you smile or shed a tear, when you laugh or show your fear,
Is it made up? A part of the act?
Do you judge your actions, before you react?
Do you feel devoid of emotion, a blank space for a heart?
Do you get that empty feeling, no expectation for a begining or start?
Do you feel like you're fighting a lost battle, to save your real self?
Do you feel, that who you were, is forgotten and put on to a shelf?
You count days, not by how many left to live,
But by counting, how many left to die?
That humans are just like time, they come ... and go by?
Do you say things, you don't really mean, or carry forward what should be left behind?
Do you often search for that somebody, who'll win over ...your heart and mind?
Do you ever curse at the wind, asking what you did wrong?
Do you ever promise youself, you'll never let anyone in, that, you'll always be strong?
If yes is the answer, to all that was asked, an answer that'll forever last,
The you ... my friend, are a reflection ...of my, present ...future... and past
