NUISANCE
[ noo-suhns, nyoo- ]
noun
an obnoxious or annoying person,
thing, condition, practice, etc.

EVANGELINE HEALY deserved a break. A break from her abusive, dead-beat parents. In all of her sixteen years of life, never had she known the opposite of pain and suffering. She had never known a parent's love.

RATHER, she watched her parents fight like dogs, ripping at each other's throats mercilessly. She watched them spazz out on drugs and pass out from drunkenness. She suffered the wrath of their pointless rage.

SOMEHOW Eva survived. Sane, even. After the hundredth eviction (it seemed), the Healy family moved to the Southside of Chicago. And Debbie Gallagher, sympathetic for her new friend, came to the rescue. The Gallaghers took her in.

But CARL GALLAGHER, the NUISANCE, could not resist pushing the new girl to question her sanity.
