Prologue

Bella's POV

the moment i feel his teeth sink into my neck, i go numb.

i let him do it.

Love,

Life,

Meaning.....over.

Edward was gone.

along with everyone else:

Alice

Jasper

Emmett

Esme

Carlisle

i even miss Rosalie.

they all left me.

like a pet they couldn't keep and abandoned at the woods.

it didn't matter anymore.

let me die.

life lost it's meaning to me.

i feel how he draines me.

and i don't struggle,

i embrace the feeling.

in my mind, i thank Laurent.

for ending my suffering.

............................why does he stop?

why does he leave me lying on the ground?

"what a pity." he sighs, " i really liked you Bella. you were just at the wrong place at the wrong time. i honestly regret killing you."

what? no,no,no!!!

i'm not dead!

he turn around and is gone when i blink.

then, i begin to burn.

i'm on fire yet i do not scream.

i welcome the pain that distracts me.

but i also know what it means...:

i'm transforming.

i'm becoming Edwards worst nightmare.

........

time passes and i don't know how long i've been lying here.

i can't see anything except for darkness.

suddenly, i hear a voice next to my ear:

"don't worry dear," the soft, male voice says.

then another voice:

"we'll help you through it Bella," a velvet female voice tickles my other ear, " we'll keep you safe until you awaken. you're not alone anymore. no need to die."

i don't know how but i ask to the people i cannot see: "promise?"

i hear a giggle sounding like very little bells: "i promise Bella. we won't leave you."

"indeed," the male voice ensures me," even after your transformation, we will stand by your side."

i sigh and feel a tear rolling down my cheek:

"thank you...."

and after those two words,

i sink into the peaceful darkness

and

wait until the moment i can start my life all over.....
