lyrics:
—let's get out of this town
baby, we're on fire
everyone around here seems to be going down
down, down
if you stick with me I can take you higher and higher
it feels like all of our friends are lost
nobody's found, found, foundI got so scared
I thought no one could save me
you came along, scooped me up like a babyevery now and then the stars align
boy and girl meet by the great design
could it be that you and me are the lucky ones?
everybody told me love was blind
then I saw your face and you blew my mind
finally, you and me are the lucky ones this timeboy, get into my car
got a bad desire
you know that we'll never leave if we don't get out now, now, now
you're a careless con and you're a crazy liar
but baby,
nobody can compare to the way you get down
down, downI tried so hard to act nice like a lady
you taught me that it was good to be crazyfeels like, you know it feels like
feels like falling in love for the first time
feels like, you know
it feels like falling love

my thoughts
Lucky Ones is the fifteenth and final track off the deluxe edition of Del Rey's debut LP Born To Die. It's one of the most romantic on the record, with another minor verse transitioning into a major chorus in key. In the song, Lana is trying to runaway with her lover. It's almost a small circle from Born To Die, because she feels more alive and happy then at the beginning of the record.
Lana has finally found a lover who she can be herself around, and not have to "act nice like a lady" around. It tells of an almost Romeo & Juliet type love affair, with the two seeing each other for the first time and falling in love for the first time. This is also resonates with the line "every now and then the stars align" like the term "star-crossed lovers", and "everybody told me love was blind (...) saw your face and you blew my mind."
She's finally realising her true desires for this man, and knowing that she can be her wild, crazy self with him around and feel comfortable, instead of having to push herself into a different kind of personality and put on a front. Her love is so passionate that it almost feels like the first time she has ever loved, because having never loved before would make the feeling of it much more powerful.
She's not afraid, and no longer scared of her heart being broken (Without You) or the pain of breakup being too sad (Dark Paradise). She's ready for it all, to sacrifice herself for her lover, even if it means pain later on, just to feel the rush of love and excitement. She feels lucky to have met someone like him, and doesn't want to ever let him go.
