the wind screamed and whipped her hair around her face
ice biting the warmth from her exposed skin
so cold her shoulders shuddered and her cheeks turned pink
white fingers trembled, frozen stiff
lips cracked and blossomed with red just barely pooling to the surface
the cold, it seeped through to her bones
but she had been cold for a long time
the crashing of tumultous waves against rocks rang in her ears
smell of salt, seaweed and sand singed her nostrils
frosty droplets sprayed her body, mirroring the wetness on her cheeks
standing on the edge of the world, the black horizon stretched out before her
the finality of the moment sunk in as her toes peered just over the cliffside
this was her last decision, her final attempt to seize control
the waves and wind as her music, she stepped forward and embraced the darkness
