You are a homecoming princess, smile.

There once was a girl who was told something cool

She was voted for homecoming princess for the school

Classmates joked, and told her she would wear a dress

Her high heels would be huge, and she was in distress

However, the girl had one percent hope to be the one

She imagined a snow white dress through the aisle to run

When ones told her is she ready, she told them no

Despite her doubts, inside she was feeling low

This dance that was the last thing on her mind, became the first

Her classmates smirked when she was told to be the winner for this thirst

Winners were announced, and she knew, crying at night for these jokes

This girl shaked it off the next day, and kept her head inside her books

It is not the skin we should be judged by win running for an election

But the one that leads to the gateway to ones soul, and their vision

It is not the appearance or dress, but the personality and the feeling you get

When one approaches you and makes you feel beautiful, that is the princess, don't forget

This girl respected all princesses, and waved to all

She was loved by many, hated by few, and was afraid to fall

But she fell, and then she rose again

When she rose, she counted to ten

Education mattered so much to her and all she desired was to be good

So she kept trying and applying to many scholarships for the hood

Enjoying her senior year, dressing up to make memories

And saving them to her phone, with tears of joy for the hee- hee - hees

She wanted people to feel special and give them a hug

She wanted people to feel nice and know they will be on a mug

And ones who doubted her to be voted for a princess

She smiled at them laughing and gave them another chance
