~CHAPTER 19: TOGETHER AGAIN~

SOUNDS of Bella's screams, bones breaking and hot white pain running through my own body, haunted me in my sleep. I woke up a few times during the night, breathing heavily and even sometimes screaming. After the third time that I woke up like that, Carlisle was kind enough to come by and order the nurses to give me some meds that would knock me out. Thankfully, the nightmares eased off and I got some much needed rest. But by noon, the medication had to wear off, as once again my brain decided to torture me with a nightmare.

Or... was it a memory?

I was burning, the floor beneath me was wet, but oh so cold... it was almost pleasant. I think that... I was staring ahead, shaking and screaming? Was it me? Or was it, someone else? I wasn't sure.

My vision was out of focus, but I noticed someone who was kneeling near my body. The person had pale blond hair and golden eyes, that's when I realized that, that someone was... Rose? But what was she doing here?

I wanted to ask, but my throat was so raw... it really was me, screaming...

"She's dying, what do we do? She was bitten, maybe we can just let it—" said a girly voice off the side, it was Alice...?

"No! It's killing her, we need to get rid of it! Carlisle!" Rosalie screamed, looking somewhere else. Was Carlisle here too?

I tried to turn as well, but I could, the pain was... too much. Everything started going hazy again, as if a curtain was closing over my open eyes. So much so that I stopped seeing anything but purple nothingness.

An animalistic growl echoed through the room. It sounded like an angry tiger... or a lion? It was hard to focus on it, as I still heard the groans and screams that were coming from me.

"Alice, you need to go and help calm him down." a male voice said. Carlisle...? "He might go into a rampage, you saw what he did to James. And Rosalie, I need you to hold her down, can you do that?"

"Yes." she responded, as the pressure around me increased, along with the pain.

Another growl and some yelling could be heard, as Carlisle spoke again "Good... I'm sorry Thea, this is going to hurt."

Then another wave of extreme pain filled me.

I woke up with a scream, as everything felt like it was shaking around me. I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to drown out the memories that came forward. James's trap, me burning him, yelling for Bella to run, her screams, his hands on my broken body, the shards cutting into me, James' teeth against my skin—

I trembled, grabbing at where my neck and shoulder met, feeling the gauze that still was there. And under that...

Nurses burst into my room once again and gave me pitying looks, asking if I was alright. I lightly waved them off and asked if Charlie made it to visit me with Bella.
