Kai's POV
The only thing I was dreading was here, Christian. If he wasn't here Hayley wouldn't pay a second glance at him.

I could tell how scared she was when she saw him but she acted strong and refused my offer. Then when Francesca called her I could see everything written on her face

I'm sorry (Hayley) but Jonathan is being a real pain.

Couldn't he wait for me to clear the air between me and Hayley first??

Even after that as Hayley told Christian everything but left out the morning part, I felt a little disheartened.

I know Christian would be angry and she didn't want chaos right now but still.

I am not going down without a fight Christian. Hayley was and will always be mine.

Hayley's POV
Mom was sitting on the sofa and I ran towards her, ignoring dad.

She looked at me with tears in her eyes. I thought she was angry with me but she pulled me into a hug clearing all my doubts. I sighed heavily as I hugged her back

I pulled apart and stood up to face my dad
"What did you do this time?" I said through gritted teeth.

When I asked him to apologize to her I meant about leaving "us" I didn't ask him to tell her everything dammit

Kai and Christian both walked towards my mom and while Christian sat beside my mom consoling her, Kai stood beside me glaring at my dad.

My dad seemed confused and so he backed off a little.

"What did you tell her?" kai spoke and I looked at my dad judging him closely. He didn't have any fear instead seemed pretty calm.

I was getting irritated at this sight so I repeated again

"What did you do this time" my voice was louder than before and it was so deadly that I received glances from everyone present in the room.

Both Christian and kai seemed proud but I never took my eyes off my dad

"I told her, everything"

I slump my shoulders in defeat. He really hadn't changed

"You told her about. Everything?" kai seemed more concerned than me and I could tell he was still hiding something

"Let me tell you what I know to clear the confusion" my mom spoke this time and all of us turned to her. She asked everyone to sit and we did

"Starting with Christian"

Christian stiffened beside me and I gave his hand a reassuring squeeze

"Christian you just don't run the family business; you run the largest mafia in the country beside Jonathan and kai"

Christian nodded at her statement and she moved further

"Kai"
"Kai you are the most important man to Jonathan and almost like a son to him, a son who is something more"

Kai nodded too and I gave him an assuring smile. Dad let out a laugh and I gave him a confusing look.

"Hayley"

I looked at her because I didn't have any secret.

"You got married to Christian but were living with kai, why?"

"I wasn't living with kai-"before I could complete Christian spoke for me

"It was entirely my fault, she didn't know any of this and when I told her she got scared and ran away, she was coming to you directly but she couldn't bear telling you and so she went to kai" I looked at Christian with a smile on my face and he smiled back.

My mom just nodded her head and moved further

"Jonathan" all of us finally looked at my dad; it was time my dad was exposed too

"You left your daughter because you were involved in activities that could put her in danger"

"Yes" he spoke clearly disappointed and I fought the urge to argue with him right now

"You also never looked back" my mom spoke nearly a whisper.

This was now something that they had to discuss alone so I tapped kai and Christian asking them to come with me outside.

All of us slipped outside without being questioned

"Kai thank you for being here today, I owe you big time"

"You do" he let out a soft giggle

"Christian"

"Uhm I will be at the kitchen" kai said and walked towards the kitchen. I didn't notice as a soft smile spread across my face

"Hayley you don't need to thank me, I will always be there for you"

"I know" I hugged Christian with that because I felt guilty for not giving him the same love and attention he deserved.

He hugged me back and I was almost lost in his embrace until we heard yelling from the living room

I pulled apart instantly and looked at Christian who had the same confused face. Kai also ran towards the living room and I opened the door

My dad and mom were yelling at each other taking out all the anger they stored for the past years

"You don't get it do you?"

They were so involved in the conversation that they didn't notice us coming inside.

"What dad?" I spoke as I heard their conversation

He looked at me with regret in his eyes and I could tell whatever he was about to say wasn't good

"That the only way out of the mafia is death"
