Just a Little Wish

I didn't think I'd have to dream,
I didn't think I'd have to ask,
Because loyalty and love,
Should be at the top of the task.

I should be a priority,
Not an inconvenience.
I should be treated like a princess,
Not a damsel in distress. 

I wish I was respected,
I wish I wasn't hurt.
I wish my body was the one he loved,
And not the other girls.

I wish he didn't even lie,
I wish those messages weren't hid.
I wish I saw what really happened,
From beginning to the end.

I wish it wasn't real,
I wish my heart fully stopped.
But instead, it beats for a man,
Who doesn't know how to love.

I wish love wasn't fighting,
I wish that love was peace.
I wish "lost" never came to mind,
But it comes to mine with ease.

I wish I was enough,
I wish he actually meant those words.
But all those words mean nothing,
If they're told to other girls.

I wish a lot of things,
And I wish for the truth.
But the truth of the matter is,
They won't cheat if they love you.

So if I got cheated on,
If my soul got crushed.
Was it ever even real,
Or just romanticized mush. 

If love truly existed,
I wouldn't be writing this.
Cheating can start online,
Being physical doesn't always exist. 

When did the thoughts occur,
To throw me away.
To replace me with another girl,
And think every thing is okay?

I wish it never happened,
I wish you never did it.
I wish I could hate you,
But you can't hate heaven.

But was it really heaven,
Or was it just my thoughts?
Because love is through affection,
And cheating is not.

Oh, I wish you never cheated,
But that is what you did.
And through some other girl,
You chose affection to give.

You told her nice things,
Complimented her body.
But when confronted about it,
You could only say you were sorry.

And I wish you truly were,
I wish I wasn't so affected.
I wish when you said "Iloveyou",
That you truly meant it.

But sometimes in life,
A wish is too much to ask for,
And so it only exists as:
Just a little wish.
