Awestruck, that was the only feeling Avni could recognize at the second.

Aniruddh skilfully chopped vegetables at a faster pace like a master chef, while his other hand-stretched to stir the wooden spatula which stays on the pan as onions fried golden on it. The most impressive part to observe as her husband cooked was that he looked calm and peaceful like it was an everyday thing to cook looking so attractive and stunning.

It was almost noon by the time they reached the apartment and Avni expected it to be the end of the long, tiring trip but a surprise to the new bride! The elevator stopped working.

The doors of the lift were automatic and it seemed like some random, notorious kid played a trick with his floors elevator opening by placing a huge cardboard carton leading the elevator suspended.

Oh, how she hates kids.

With that issue at hand, Avni and Aniruddh had to carry their luggage all the way up to the tenth floor, making Avni sob silently. She has practically brought any and every item she owned back home. Form a tiny hair clip to an almost dead, decade-old ink pen. She couldn't get herself to abandon anything, somehow everything felt important.

For the choices she made, she suffered dead as she dragged her luggage upwards. It took every ounce in her to not disown her stuff and walk away, now that childhood ink pen felt nothing, nada.

She almost rolled her eyes when Aniruddh climbed the stairs with ease. Of course, his bag had nothing but clothes, yet the small point that he didn't bother to even offer help for name's sake made her feel dejected already. Avni felt completely sad when Aniruddh almost jogged his way up and there were five more floors but, look at him! He practically abandoned her in between.

Cursing and swearing at the hostilenes of her husband, Avni kept on dragging her heavy bag and when she reached the end of Fifth floor she sighed loudly in success. She can do this, what if her hands ached?

Avni almost jumped in fear when she felt a sudden presence around her, and to her surprise, it was her husband? Did he come down to help her?

"Flat no 1012," Saying, Aniruddh forced the house keys in her hand as he picked up her heavy luggage.

All Avni could do was blink at him. She actually expected him to abandon her, observing by the way he hurried for his flat. But, here's a catch, he ran faster so that he could come back and help her?

Oh, her poor heart.

"Thank you." Avni mumbled a quick thanks, her cheeks painting a light blush. She climbed the stairs faster so that she could unlock the door before he could climb with her heavy, rock of a luggage.

Avni could see Aniruddh's lying carelessly in front of their door, as she picked it up thinking why he couldn't he just talk to her normally instead of acting all unwelcoming?

Unlocking the door Avni stepped inside his small beautiful house and almost immediately she let the mesmerising interior of the house drown her in its vibrant look. The living room was painted with fresh green and white colours adding life to the house, before today, if anyone would have suggested that this combination of paints for interiors of a house she might have laughed disapprovingly.

To the left of the living room were two bedrooms and to the right remains a tiny yet huge kitchen with an eye-catching black chimney.

Right at the end of the living room was a huge, empty balcony with no signs of usage. The house had practically the same plan which most of the apartments had, but what made the uniqueness of this one was its right colours and perfect interior finishing.
