fire & ice

there was fire and there was ice
living together, but cannot co-exist
polar opposites that somehow attracted.
fire was taught that to cope she must destroy
ice was always forced to keep his cool
but sometimes there's too much fueling
the rage and destruction
the fire cannot be stopped
she doesn't want to be stopped
ice alone cannot solve this problem
he is too weak and melting under pressure
the heat was always on
until the fire that once burned so bright
so bright you could see it
when you looked into her eyes
fizzled out, became dull
became nothing.
ice had destroyed everything
all that is left is streaky smoke clouds
billowing in the wind
even that will be gone,
there will be nothing left,
and sometimes it is better to accept
the unacceptable.
