does the art become an entity
does it take on a life of its own
as an artist
do you appreciate the sadness that flows out of you
like wine overflowing a golden chalice
as an artist
does it have any meaning
or am i standing in an echo chamber
where the only voice i hear is my own
as an artist
does the pain ever stop
and if it does
what will motivate me to make something beautiful
they say that fear is the greatest motivator
they say that happiness is earned
and that everyone you love will eventually leave
they say to take things slow
and to spend time with your family
because they're all gonna die
they say that life only gets harder
i wonder if an artist said that
or if it was just some guy
who experienced too much life at once
isn't that what being an artist is?
