Gulf’s POV

I put the keys of my car in the drawer next to the door.

What a tiring day.

This week was the busiest week I had this year, but I’m not complaining. Life was kinda tough since I moved to Thailand. I had to start from scratch. Good thing I have friends who are always ready to help me.

I’m Gulf Kanawut, 30, a model and CEO of a fashion magazine.

I’m originally from South Korea since my Thai parents moved there after they got married. I was a well established model and a fashion magazine editor before I moved to Thailand 4 years ago, for love.

But it didn’t turn out the way I wanted it to be.

So after the breakup, I can’t move back since I cancelled my modelling contract, invested in starting my own fashion magazine here and I’m enrolled for Grad School in a famous university. The first year was really tough. I had to balance everything — work, business and school, without having an emotional breakdown because of my breakup but I managed to do it and now here I am, pretty, successful … and single.

I sighed.

This shit is lonely but I’d rather be alone than got my heart broken like that again.

I was about to sleep when I heard my phone ring.

It's Mild, my best friend from high school that became a famous photographer.  One of the people who helped me when I started my life in Thailand.

"What's up?" I asked as I picked up the phone.

"You would never believe what I saw!" He said. I can feel excitement in his voice, which never leads to anything good, really.

"Stop making me guess and be done with it. I'm busy, I'll be going to Chula for my graduation photos." I said, waiting for what he'll say impatiently.

After 4 long years, I'll be graduating from my PhD. Something I never thought I'll be able to do. A dream that started 5 years ago.

A dream I built when he was still by my side.

"My friend who was a photographer asked me to edit photos he took yesterday. You will never guess who the person in the picture is!" He shouted.

I knew this would never turn out good.

Before I even got to answer, He said the name I never thought I'll hear again. Ever.

"It's Mew! Your ex-boyfriend Mew Suppasit!" He said.

Fucking great.

As soon as I heard his name, I felt something stab my heart.

I thought I'm over it. But I guess I'm not. How can I be over it? How can I move on from him?

"So what? I don't care. He can burn in hell for all I care." I said as I opened my refrigerator to get beer.

I need a a fucking drink.

"It's not just him. He's with a girl. They're hugging each other and they look happy. It looks like a prenup. I think he's getting married." He said.

I felt my world stop.

Hearing news about him still shoots my heart and it hurts.

But this news about him getting married?

This feels like a fucking love murder.

"I sent the photos on your phone. Check it if you want to. Anyways, I have to go. I still have work piled up. Talk to you soon!" Mild hang up.
