Chapter 7

"Miranda I still dont have a lawyer that I think I trust, dont get me wrong I think Amelia and Jake are great but they have both helped Mason in some difficult cases and Im not taking the risk, this case means a lot to me." She concluded with a frustrated sigh
"Well I dont know what to do about that but there has to someone that can help you." She shrugged

The sisters were both deep in thought when a familiar feminine voice rang through the five story house

"Lia! Are you home?" Emma wants to see you." The voice continued

"Is that?" Lia said with a gigantic smile
"Riley!" She continued as she ran out of her room, down the stairs until she was standing right infront of her bestfriend
"Riley, I am so happy to see you, its been sooo long." She breathed out as the two of them hugged

Riley is Lia's bestfriend from high school, the two of them have known each other for years. Riley and her husband Ryan have a daughter named Emma, she was born a couple of years ago after Riley was kidnapped and saved by Mason Giovanni

"Hi, I thought I should visit." Riley mentioned "I heard what happened, I brought Emma with me but she is with  Ryan they will be here later ." She added "where is he right now?" Miranda asked as she decended the flight of stairs

Lia noticed a hint of panic cross Riley's face before she answered "umm...well" she hesitated "He is with Mason." She said as she looked at the black marble floor "why is he with Mason?" Miranda asked getting defensive "I dont know and Im not here to talk about my husband Miranda....now please excuse us." Riley Retorted as Miranda looked at Lia silently asking for her defense, to her surprise Lia nodded her head in a dismissive manner making Miranda squirm away

"So before we get into this....umm is Emma going to see Mason too?" Lia asked shyly "Oh that is upto Ryan, I'm sure he'll make the right decision." She said with a chuckle
"Okay lets go, we'll talk on the balcony."

Meanwhile.....

"Ryan Hi." Mason firmly said as he looked at his visibly angry friend "you cheated on her." Was all Ryan said through gritted teeth "You know what you did to Lia affected my Wife too...what is wrong with you Mason she was nothing but good to you." He continued " Ryan she didnt want to have a child with me." He seethed before Ryan could retaliate, Mason solemnly looked at Ryan "But that isnt an excuse because I know what I did is wrong, she doesnt deserve to go through this." He said with a heavy sigh "I dont want to go to court but my dad thinks its a necessity." He concluded
"Mason I didnt come here to listen to your pity party, I came here to tell you that no matter what you do Riley and I stand with Lia through this Chaos that you caused." He said in a conclusive tone "I'm sorry Mason but you did this to yourself." Ryan said "Ryan can I atleast see Emma?" He pleaded "That is Riley's decision to make and you already know what her answer will be." He said as he made his way to the door leaving a distorted Mason behind

Elsewhere......

"So your parents want to be my lawyers?" Lia asked clearly confused " Yes they thought that since Mason has been doing business in Washington for years now, he would have more connections and would probably subotage your team of lawyers so they will be flying in tomorrow from Russia  and will be-." She stopped as her phone started vibrating indicating a phone call

"Yeah I'm with Lia, you want to talk to her." Riley paused " Okay." Then she turned her attention to Lia "Ryan wants to talk to you." She said as she passed the phone to Lia and left the room

" Hi Ryan." No response "Ryan" she repeated "Lia um Hi." She froze as she recognised the Musculine voice on the other end of the line " Mason, what do you want? Where is Ryan? You know what dont answer that Bye!" She said as she ended the call

" Lia why did you hang up?" Riley said as she returned with a pack of strawberries "Did Ryan say something to you?" She continued " Lia talk to me."
"It wasnt Ryan on the line, it was Mason." She gulped " Riley I'm pregnant and its definately his." She said as Riley's eyes grew wider "Okay, well this kinda strengthens our case considering he cheated on you based of your inability to give him a child this proves that you arent infertile." Riley said now getting serious " What infertility? Where are you getting this?" Lia asked "Zeke Giovanni released a statement saying that you are infertile last night." She paused "Thats why I rushed to your house, how dont you know this?" She asked confused "Never mind Riley." She said as she took in the view from her balcony "Riley I think Ryan just pulled up, we should go." She gestured to the doorway leading them to the living room.

Mason's POV

I know I cheated on Lia, but I kinda miss her. Her smile, her brunette hair, her laugh and Her eyes God those eyes that are so blue its like I was looking into the deep blue see.

I miss her and the sad part is I know she would never take me back, thats what makes her special she doesnt need a man for her to be happy unlike Alice that needs me to validate her, Lia doesnt need a man to be specific she doesnt need me.

Its heartbreaking when I think about all the times we spent together and what we are now, I tried talking to her through Riley but she didnt even let me say anything she just hang up on me but I dont blame her I would hang up on me too.

Today I signed the divorce papers, I dont want to take this to court I'd rather let her go myself hopefully if reincarnation is real we'll be together again and I wont screw it up, Hopefully after this frenzy Lia finds happiness. But as for me Lia is my happiness after our divorce my life will officially be miserable.
