Bakru (or Bakroe) is a dwarf or gnome spirit in the Winti religion of Suriname. It is a dwarf spirit as it is approximately half the size of human child, but with an over-sized head. It is said to be made of half flesh and half wood. Some state that the Bakru has red eyes, but that is not always reported by its victims.
These are gnome-like spirits and familiars found in the Afro-Surinamese Winti religion.
They grant their master wealth, many desires, and will do "dirty" work for you. You must always keep them happy though and whatever they request in return, must be given.
