Dark Magic.

It's a magic born from one of the divine rulers, who was easily bewitched by a human, the Night. It's the curse that left all the divine rulers aslept while the Day, bearer of light, was the one who granted Hiraya's wish for a peaceful world.

In one glance, the good and bad is evident. Day saved the world from Night whose thoughtless actions led them to downfall.

And for a sacred magical continent like ours, such symbol of evil is forbidden. Dark magic has long been erased in our era, banished from being used, that even the mere reminder of colors black and red were forbidden from being worn. Dark magic such as Azriel's shadows were casted away, and the soulbearers must have undergone a lot of shame and pain in this world of light.

"If I understood our history right, our magic were derived from the five divine rulers. From the five, not four. So if we're going to worship such god-given magic and Hiraya who begged for it, then why should we outcast a certain part of our being? Magic isn't magic without darkness. Life isn't life without night. I mean, no offense meant, son of sun."

Sinulyapan ko si Helios na walang karea-reaksiyon. He didn't even bother to look back.

"That's too ideal." Beatrix commented with a scoff.

Oh, heavens. I hate people who argue without conviction the most. Magsisimula ng away tapos maghahanap ng kakampi. In fistfight, she wouldn't survive.

"We've tried to accept such magic before, Raven. But it proved to bring no good. Darkness only delivers destruction and chaos, not peace. It promotes war. No more wars, no more bloody feuds. No more threats to the peaceful world that Hiraya dreamed of." sinulyapan ni Dustine si Azriel. "I'm not against its existence, but it'll be better if they're all gone."

Well, what can we hope from a pasaway?"

"Psh. Dini-defend niya kasi kaibigan niya rin may dark magic."

"Kaibigan nga ba? Baka naman kalandian."

"You know, if you snakes have something to say, don't hiss it on the ground and tell it to my face. I'm immune to venoms so kahit tuklawin niyo ako, walang effect." I directed the words at the sheeps who can't cry wolf, before turning to Dustine. I scoffed a laugh. "Are you really a daughter of the regent of defense?

"What do you mean?"

"There are no more wars? Well that's because the palace has become pathetic—"

I can't blame the insulted and surprised gasps that came from my classmates.

"Do not bring the palace into this—"

I cut the warning growl off. "—and they've decided to beg out of war, rather than fight them. So, you see, with or without dark magic, our continent would still be in peace because of coward leaders. The banishment is just an excuse for something more. For what?
