A young blonde could be seen standing alone on the bow of the ship as it closed in on its finally destination - New York, America. The girl was a beauty, there was no doubt about that - with her characteristic long blonde hair that had a mind of its own and bright green eyes dressed in an outdated floral summer dress that had definitely seen better days and a tan dress coat. The girl was practically bouncing with excitement - jumping on the toes of her leather heeled dress shoes as though that would provide her a better view of the nearing city.

As the ship neared the dock the blonde ran chaotically to find her companion, bumping into several other passengers and elbowing others out of the way accidentally.

"Oh sorry, sorry. Excuse me." She shouted in her prominent British accent as she attempted to find her way past the gathering crowd. As the girl ran towards the doors to the cabins a hand latched onto her firmly. The girl turned around quickly to see whom had grabbed her only to meet the bemused eyes of Newt Scamander.

"Lils, I can't believe I'm saying this but you need to calm down. One would think out of the two of us that I was the one with the stuffy pureblood family." The curly haired man stated as he smiled at his friends antics.

It was a slight lie - both the Delphine and Scamander family were purebloods it's just the Scamander family was much more open about their views. The Delphine family weren't blood purist or anything like that just... a little old fashioned which Lilith hated with a passion.

Lilith pouted at her friend's words comically, her eyebrows scrunching together as if to silently show her disapproval.

"But Newt, we're in America. We're finally here and that means adventure - how could I not be excited?!" She asked horrified, "Also, stop doing that bloody eye twinkle thing - your starting to remind me of Professor Dumbledore."

Newt couldn't help but laugh at that - it was a running joke between the two of them that Newt would end up as batty and unhelpful as Dumbledore in his old age, refusing to answer in anything except riddles and fancy words that no one fully understands.

Newt placed his hands firmly on the girls shoulders as he bent down to properly look in her eyes.

"Yes," he stated in an amused tone. "America does mean adventure but first we must not get caught."

Lilith furrowed her brows once again.

"Which story are we going with this time? Wife? Fiancé? Cousin? Or Sister?" She asked him.

Newt was stuck in thought for a while before he answered, "Let's go fiancé - Merlin knows sister ended badly enough last time."

Lilith hated the idea of being Newt's fake fiancé especially since she was trying to help set her friend up with a nice girl after Lestrange, otherwise known as the she-devil who broke his heart. Well, more like ripped it out of his chest, smashed it into pieces, set it on fire and danced on the ashes. Newt deserved to be happy. Despite her dislike for the situation, even she had to admit Newt had a point with that. Last time she was his 'sister' they ended up hanging upside-down in a prison in Serbia and she definitely didn't want a repeat of that.

The young Delphine girl let out an exasperated sigh.

"Fine, but where's my ring, dear fiancé of mine?"

This caused another spout of laughter to fall from her friends lips as he picked up a button that had obviously fallen off another travellers coat before transfiguring it into a dainty ring before sliding it onto his best friends finger.

"Bloody show-off," she grumbled before taking Newt's arm and exiting the now docked ship.

It was no secret during their time at Hogwarts that Lilith was abysmal at Transfiguration. It was so bad that even Theseus, whom spent hours with the girl in an attempt to tutor on the subject, eventually gave up and told her to "just give up!" This was the man who didn't give up for anything so that's saying something. Though it probably didn't help that she was asleep during the majority of the class, it wasn't her fault though - Professor Dumbledore just had one of those voices she could nap to all day.

Lilith was snapped out of her thoughts when she spotted a familiar twiggy head pop up from Newt's coat pocket. She lifted her hands to the collar of Newt's coat as though she was trying to straighten it and used her pointer finger to quickly push Pickett's head back down. She then went back to fix the collar which had somehow folded up on itself before taking Newt's hand in her own and dragging him to the exit.

Thankfully the two wizarding travellers managed to get off the boat without too much of an issue, however, it was the checking that had the both of them nervous - terrified that someone may find out what is in the case. They both joined the que to have their bags checked - Lilith looking around at the new city in awe whilst Newt was starting to look more and more suspicious with his nervous ticks.

Lilith elbowed her 'fiancé' in the side - sending everyone around them a blinding fake smile and dragging her best friend down to her level so she could talk to him without being over heard.

"For Merlin's sake, calm the bloody hell down your making even me nervous." She muttered not allowing the smile to leave her face.

The que moved forward once again and suddenly the two wizards found themselves at the front.

The guard eyed them both suspiciously before asking "names?"

Chuckling Newt handed over both their passports as Lilith entwined their hands together.

"Newt Scamander and Lilith Delphine." Newt stated as he rubbed the back of his neck with his free hand.
Lilith had to stop herself facepalming. Rubbing the back of his neck was one of Newt's most obvious 'I've got something to hide' tells and he wasn't the most adept at lying on the spot.

"I'll need to check the case." The guard stated before asking "What's your reason for travelling?"

Lilith watched Newt flick the switch of the case to make sure that it was muggle friendly before going off on one of her famous rants.

"Oh, it's really sweet actually. Me and Newty here are going on a pre-wedding trip actually." Lilith started as Newt sent her a look as though to say 'you better not embarrass me.'

"To be fully honest I wasn't expecting him to propose he's always just been so shy. Looked really ill when he asked me to marry him - so much so that I thought he was about to topple over and pass out. It was so adorable. He then went on a ramble about how he'd love to have 10 children with me and how he'd planned our life out since he first wrote 'Mrs Lilith Scamander' in his jotters for school. His rambling got so bad that I said yes and he didn't even hear me."

Newt did not look impressed though the guard looked thoroughly amused at the reddening of Newt's cheeks.

"That's enough now, dear. We don't want to keep the que waiting." Newt stated as he pulled Lilith close to him in an attempt to get her to shut up, grabbing both the passports and case before dragging her out of the building.

As the two made it out side Lilith couldn't help but laugh.

"Really?" He asked quirking up an eyebrow.

Lilith giggled "call it payback for Colombia," before she ran off down into the streets of New York.

"Hey, The Colombia incident wasn't my fault." He spluttered before following after the hyperactive blonde.
