3 months pregnant:

"Mhmm, Meera?"

The bright light of the bathroom woke a super sleepy Shourya up at three thirty in the morning. He looked towards their balcony window and the sun wasn't even rising yet.  He squinted his eyes to see what Meera was doing in the bathroom and it wasn't till he heard a whimper did he realise that she was having morning sickness. Really early morning sickness.

He quickly stumbles out of bed and almost trips on his way to his wife. He holds her hair back and rubs her back as she hovers over the toilet. Meera whines again and wipes the corner of her mouth, cringing at the distaste.

"You're kids trouble me every morning."

"Sorry Jaan! You're going through so much and I just feel useless. Tumhe bola hai na ki mujhe utha diya kro."

(I've said that you should wake me up.)

"I know. Pr mein aapko tang nahi krna chaahti."

(But I don't want to bother you.)

"Tum mujhe kabhi tang nahi kr sakti. Chahe kitni bhi koshish krlo."

(You can never bother me. You can try as hard as you want.)

Shourya lightly kisses his pregnant wife's forehead as he helps her rinse and brush her teeth and wash her face before getting her settled back in bed. He spent the rest of the morning smoothing her hair, leaving kisses wherever he could he even told her a story about a prince and princess to divert her mind. And Meera was so thankful for a husband like hers.

5 months pregnant:

"Shourya! Mein aapse baat his nahi karungi, aur baba aur dad ko aapki shikayat lagaongi! Mera haath chodiya, mein Riya ke kamre mein ja rahi hun. Aur Aarav mere liye burger aur chocolates le aayega! Mein aakeli nahi hun, aur aapka yeh torture bilkul bardasht nahi karungi! Hatiye! Mera raasta chodiye."

(Shourya! I'm not going to talk to you and I'll tell baba and dad about this! let go of my hand, I'm going to Riya's room. And Aarav will bring me my burger and chocolates! I'm not alone, and I will not tolerate this torture of yours! Move! Leave my way.)

Meera had woken her husband up in the middle of the night with tears in her eyes, which scared the living daylights out of him. He was immediately up, one arm around her shoulder and one hand holding her swollen belly.

"Jaan! What happened? Kahin dard toh nahi ho raha? Kya-"

(Jaan! What happened? Does it hurt anywhere? Wha-)

"Mu-mujhe . . . ._

(I-I. . . .)

Shourya prompted her by nodding his head, terrified for the safety of his wife and kids. But when Meera completed her sentence he calmed down and smiled at her pouty face.

". . . . . burger khana hai, aur humare bachon ko chocolates chahiye."

(. . . . . want to eat a burger, and our kids want chocolate.)

"But Meera, you had a burger yesterday, and what happened to the bag full of chocolates I bought a few days ago?"

Meera's teary pout turned into anger as she moved away from his chest and from their things turned really bad for Shourya. Which is why now he was standing in front of the door, blocking her was as he tries to pacify his wife

"Okay, okay! Please! Jaanam, sorry! I'm going, I'm going! Look I'm putting my shoes on, grabbing my wallet. You stay here okay? Wait for me."

And like that he was out the door.

"Here my precious babies! I got you three everything you wanted."

It was 1:30 am on the clock as he walked through the bedroom door with two bags of takeout, his hair tousled and messy, his shirt still slightly wet on his chest from the tears of his wife.

A huge triumphant smile spread on Meera's face as she tackled her husband with hugs and kisses before pulling out the burger and chocolates and eating them. Simultaneously. Together, At the same time.

Shourya held back a slight cringy face knowing the consequences from last time. And boy did he realise how uncomfortable the sofa was to sleep on.

Shourya was wiping her lips when she got messy and taking a bit here and there. ONLY when he was allowed to.  Once finished with the burger, she handed the wrappers over to her husband who threw them out, before settling into their bed.

A sense of satisfaction filled his chest. Meera was also smiling and giggling with her husband when she felt a slight flutter in her belly. Twice. She looked at her husband and said, "I think. . .I just felt something."

She takes his hands and puts them on her belly and they wait patiently for it to happen again. And it does!

They gasp and stare wide-eyed at each other. "Was that a kick?"

Meera nods her head and almost jumps in excitement.

"See I told you they would be happy eating chocolate!"

Shourya lifted Meera's shirt before kissing her belly, which earned him two hard kicks against his lips, which were on Meera's belly.

The couple looked at each other dumbstruck before erupting into laughs.

7 months pregnant:

"You don't think I'm beautiful anymore! You just called me cute! You never call me cute! Shoouurryyaaaa! Mein ab aapko cute lagti hun?"

(Do you think I'm cute now?)

The twins and Muskaan snicker in the corner of the toy store as Shourya turns into his apologetic mode for the third time during their shopping spree. Shourya had made the mistake of pulling his wife's cheeks and calling her cute instead of beautiful.

He knows that the growing belly was making her uncomfortable with the way she looked, and he was always careful to not say anything about it around her. And he especially didn't her upset for two reasons, they were shopping for their babies and later today Shourya was going to have to tell Meera about their next doctor's appointment, where she was going to have to deal with needles and infusions. Not something he was looking forward to seeing his wife go through.

"Jaan, aise mat kro na! Aacha baba sorry! yeh lo kaan pakad raha hun."

(Love, don't do this to me! Okay baby, sorry! Look I'm holding my ears.)

Meera throws a glare his way and he gently unfolds her arms and holds her shoulders.

"Galti ho gayi, na! I didn't mean it in a bad way. Tumse zaada khoobsurat to koi ho bhi nahi sakta, aur is waqt to itni haseen lag rahi ho ki kahin meri jaan hi na nikal jaaye."

(I made a mistake! I didn't mean it in a bad way. No one can even compare or come close to your beauty, and right now there you look so gorgeous that you take my breath away.)

His words melt Meera's heart and she suddenly begins to cry, causing the snicking of the immediately stop, the toys were put down and the three scurried closer. Shourya hugged her closer knowing what was going on.

"Mein kitni boori hun na. Aapko kitna tang krti hun. . ."

(I'm so bad. I trouble you so much. . . "
