"How old are you?" Emma asked her disgust turned to pity mixed with curiosity, Emily wasn't speaking at all but he knew she felt the same way.
"Let's leave it as I'm old enough." Alistair was going to answer something so insignificant, not to mention they most likely wouldn't believe him, In terms of this world he was barely a day old.
"Okay, then we have it, Emma you'll show him around town, thank God it's Saturday, I'll tidy up the guest room so he won't have to sleep on the couch," Emily commanded.
"I don't need- " Before Alistair could tell them he doesn't need sleep, Neither has he slept for a while now he was interrupted by Emily.
"It's my decision, I don't know about you but I love my life, and I love Emma more so since you're the defender of our lives you aren't excluded from that love," Emily confessed with a slight blush.
Emma rolled her eyes but didn't say anything she understood her sister was just being thankful although she worded it improperly, Alistair just shrugged, He needed to check the area either way, But what would he do with the red hair girl in front of him?
He waited for Emily to leave the room before he spoke "If you don't want to come I'll go alone." Alistair didn't want a brooding kid to come with him, he was going to be their protector for a couple of weeks before he left anyway it's not like this was going to be something permanent.
"No no, I am responsible for you, I want to come, just give me a couple of minutes to prepare." She ran upstairs leaving Alistair alone.
____________
When she came back she wore similar all-white clothes, Consisting of a white oversized shirt and white shorts, covering her feet were a pair of white socks and sneakers.
"Hmm, I see what you did." Alistair sighed, She was copying him, He didn't find it cute or romantic "It's not amusing" Alistair snapped his fingers and the colour of her clothes changed to red matching her hair colour.
"This is... better" Alistair commented.
"Hey!"
Emma wanted to complain but she swallowed it, she checked the mirror and she could deny the colours were nice on her.
"Let's get going," Alistair said walking towards the door but Emma ran past him grabbing his arms and ran outside not that he had anything against it so he just went with the pull.
"see you later, sis!" Emma yelled before she and Alistair left the building.
'It's snowing?' Once they got outside Alistair noticed it was snowing 'It is normal to snow before Christmas' He sighed this peaceful moment took him back into his memories and he faced one of his issues.
'If I helped her that day, how things have been-'
"Alistair! Is this the first time you're seeing snow?" Emma placed her hands on her hips glaring at him, She had been trying to talk to him for a while behind the glare the pose was cute.
"Hm, I almost ignored how beautiful she was," Alistair said checking Emma out, she had clear skin her figure couldn't be hidden by the baggie clothes she wore, and well those thighs, He wasn't a pervert but he appreciated beauty when he saw them; he didn't realize he said it out loud, Although he said that he wasn't a stranger to beautiful women, He had spent his life filled with a lot of beautiful women, Most of them tried to kill him so he never took the time to appreciate their beauty, but in this world maybe he could relax.
"Uh-erm, T-thanks" Emma immediately turned red and turned around to walk towards God knows where; leaving Alistair who walked beside her to realize he said his thoughts.
__________
The park
Several men stood around the ashes of the demon, Alistair killed yesterday.
"Could it be the Cullens?" One asked as they tried to figure out what exactly was strong enough to defeat a vampire and set him ablaze in such short periods, their only guess was the Cullens.
"I don't smell any of their scents here, Plus that Olympic Coven wouldn't kill right here, they'd take it somewhere else. There was a human right over there" A man in a wheelchair came and pointed according to his senses. "But its scent vanished completely like it never existed and I can sense another wolf here, But it's different from other werewolves."
" So there's a lone rough wolf in our territory?"
The men didn't like the sound of that, most of them started growling.
"We'll continue our search by nightfall Let's go"
*Wolf Howls*
Then they jumped all together and transformed into huge wolves before they ran off, the old man stayed in his wheelchair with a boy behind him pushing him around the park.
'My instincts are telling me something is coming, Something powerful ' The old man thought, As a veteran he had grown to trust his instincts; as his mind wandered to the future with unknown variables.
That Unknown variable was currently in a photo booth with a red-haired female who clung to him for pictures.
"Smile!"
Although Alistair didn't smile in any picture he still came out perfect "I'm not sure this is what Emily meant when she said you should take me around " Alistair didn't struggle and when with the flow but some expressions were hard to show.
"Come on, Why are you acting so weird, You're going to live and die alone if you keep pushing everyone away." Emma was trying to get him to smile but her words touched him.
'Is isolation truly what I want?' Alistair's eyes seemed uncertain he managed to stay alone for more than half a millennia but that was because he was driven by a purpose he has achieved, He knew if he didn't find something to live for; he might live the rest of eternity in anguish and isolation or even worse, He might not want to live anymore, Which might be hard since he couldn't kill himself even if he wanted to;
’maybe eternal slumb-’ He shook his head getting rid of the negative thoughts before he could finish it.
"Sighs, I'm sorry I'll try to react more humane, I'm just not used to it anymore," Alistair said as they left the booth Emma immediately went to hug the pictures away from him, "This is mine, If you want yours you'll have to take more pics." She grinned as she hide the pictures behind her, hiding them in her purse.
"I just wanted to see what they looked like." Alistair sighed "Well whatever, Where else?"
"I'm tired and hungry, how about we go get something to eat, I know the perfect place." Emma planned on taking him to her favourite bakery.
"Uh, You can eat cake right?" Emma was obsessed with sweet desserts.
"Or do you need blood instead?" Emma offered, Alistair wasn't sure if she was offering herself as his meal but it sounded like it.
"Cake is fine, I haven't tasted blood in a couple of centuries I'm fine, But I do have a question, Why do people keep staring at you weirdly?"Alistair can survive without blood but it made his vampire side extremely weak, He is yet to find out how it was affecting his body.
"Oh, Emily at some point when she was trying to expose the supernatural did drastic things, She begged people to believe her she tried to make them at least read her research, but as noble as it sounded she seemed crazy to the eyes of everyone, she was known as the woman who went mad after she lost her husband, Eventually their judgemental eye turned to me, And I was pitied for being related to a mad woman, the law tried to take custody of me, But I knew it was a threat to keep Emily silent, and when I supported her even though I didn't completely believe that the supernatural was real, their pity turned into a mockery-" Emma explained everything without a hitch in her voice, She learned to not care about the public views.
