"Calling into NASA international connect... The land is barren, no sign of life here."

"Are you sure? Check again, O'Dunn. There has to be life, or there wouldn't have been a signal. "

"Right on it."

Greg O'Dunn, a seasoned astronaut, stood on the desolate surface of the alien planet. looked around and saw nothing; the Earth seemed as barren as the Martian desert, just rocks and more rocks. The international space guard had sent him here, chasing a faint signal to this very location. With his computerized helmet, he zoomed in and saw a cave, its entrance beckoning like a dark maw. And from within, an arm waved frantically, desperate for salvation.

"HELP US!" cried the humanoid figure, echoing off the cavern walls. Greg's helmet translated the language.

Greg's Adrenaline coursing through him. He sprinted toward the cave, his boots crunching on the rocky ground. As he entered, the pungent stench of charred skin met his nose. He saw many human-looking kids, dirty, worn, glowing red eyes, and a woman with vibrant green eyes. Greg was a little irked by how human they looked. Greg noticed first, was that the woman looked as if she had been torn apart around her midsection by a chainsaw, her wound gaping, bleeding black ooze, and the children—thousands of them—stood huddled together, their eyes glowing crimson. Their faces bore the weight of fear and suffering.

She sounded exhausted. Her emerald eyes held a plea, a raw vulnerability. "Please, please, help us! I'm dying, and I'm beyond saving...The kids are all I have of my kingdom...I am the Queen; these two are my children... and bloodline...I have a note under me that explains everything." She said haltingly. The woman, her back against the cavern wall, hurried and scooted over to Greg and then screamed from the pain that her wound was causing; the children gasped; some cried, and she came back to her prior frantic state and grabbed Greg by his arm. "Please, save my children, my kingdom!" She almost hissed between her teeth.

Greg's mind raced. How could these beings resemble humans so closely? Then Greg looked into her desperate eyes. "Okay, okay, I will." Greg felt empathy for the children. For this alien female, as an International Space Guard, he thought it was his duty to protect everyone, even if that included another life form. He was shocked to see something of another humanoid race, but as he trained for this, It was his duty to expect the unexpected and to protect all.

"Calling into NASA international connect... I found life... I repeat...I found life. We need an emergency EVAC ship that could hold at least a thousand people, bring five... and a space medical team immediately; explain later."

Switching from her language to English, the woman looked at Greg and smiled, then winced at the pain from her wound. "You're a God."

"Ma'am, I'm no god, I'm just..."

"A savior, I don't care what you are as long as you're not The Evil That Came. So, to me, you're a savior. I can't take care of my children or all of my kingdom. Will you take care of them for me?"

"Of course I will; you have my word." The woman nodded, assured that this man would do as promised.

"What's your name, Human?"

"Greg, Yours?"

"Hyva."

"How do you know English, Hyva?" Greg asked while sitting down beside her.

"We've been to Earth but peacefully observed you humans from a distance; we learned every language and retained everything; you just happened to speak English."
