Chapter 3

Round one: Calm before the Storm

It was round one of the tournament, and the first battle was about to start. The referee was about to announce what was happening. "All the way from Kanto on the right side, we have Misty Waterflower Gym Leader Cerulean City! On the other side, the winner of the exhibition match, we have Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town!"

The crowd cheers for Misty, but boos for Ash. Ash looks at the audience and flips them off.

Referee: Trainers call out your Pokemon.

Misty: Misty calls Starmie!

Ash: We may haven't mastered how to activate blaze on command, but Infernape prove to them the power of a fire type.

Referee: Are both trainers ready? *Competitors nod Then BATTLE BEGIN

Misty: Hydro Pump!

Ash: Stealth Rock

Infernape fires a series of invisible rocks around the field, making Misty's team in danger. The jet of water fires at the fire monkey, but he just side steps.

Ash: Sword Dance!

Misty: Flip Turn!

Swords glow around the fire type, and its attack is raised. Starmie covers itself in water and rushes at the monkey. The fighting type simply catches it and throws it away, like nothing happened. The star lands softly and looks annoyed. But since the attack landed, the pokemon switched out into Kingdra, a Water Dragon type. It flinches on entry, and a scratch on its tail appears.

Misty: Bubble Beam wrapped around Dragon Pulse!

Ash: So she's trying to use her typing against me. Very well. I'll prove to her that typing doesn't always matter. My friend, use Brick Break on one hand, and Thunder punch on the other while on close combat. Then jump back while using Fire Spin. ( I know it's more than four moves but I don't care. Don't like it then leave.)

The dragon fires a jet of water, with bubbles around it. The starter rolls to the side and runs at the sea dragon. The starter hits him in the neck with a chop, and an electrical punch to the jaw. While the dragon is recovering, Infernape jumps back and fires a fire tornado which envelops Kingdra. Kingdra lets out a cry of pain, which makes Misty wince. When the tornado is finally over, the dragon is down. The referee makes the call, and out comes Kingdra and in comes Starmie.

The star looks at the fire type with anger. Its teammate was down, and it was going to get payback. But just like with his teammate, the star is pierced by rocks.

Ash: Good job Infernape. Misty has a mega stone, so finish this with taking as least damage as possible. Wrap this one up quick and we'll prepare for her mega. Hopefully it's a Gydraos or Sharpedo so we can have super effective hits. Our defense is down so make sure we don't lose too much health just enough for blaze. Go for Agility, then sword dance. If the star hasn't hit you, go for another agility. *Infernape nods and pumps his chest.

Misty: Dazzling Gleam!

The star fires a bright light, but it grazes Infernape, who sets up his 2 agility and sword dance. Infernape, deciding to wrap it up like his master said, runs in at blinding speed and hits the star with a glowing fist. With one hit, it's over.

Referee: Starmie is unable to battle, Infernape wins!

Misty has a look of anger, and calls out her strongest pokemon. A mighty Gyarados hits the field, but not before having stones pierce it. Misty decides to mega evolve the beast. Instead of a water flying, it is now a water dark. Ash has a smirk, and knows its game over.

Misty: Aqua Tail!

The beast hit Infernape in the stomach, but didn't notice the monkey was smiling. It gets blasted into the ground in front of his trainer. Infernape gets up with red eyes. The fire monkey screams a mighty call and a huge pillar of red flames appears on its head.

Ash: Flare Blitz!

Misty: We won't lose! Not this early! Use Outrage!

Infernape has blue fire around him, and before the leviathan can even scream, it's on the ground knocked out, mega evolution disabled. The ref makes the call, and Ash wins 0-3. Without even a glance, he walks out while returning Infernape, who is roaring in triumph.

The crowd is dead silent. Misty returns her monster, and falls to her knees. She was eliminated in the first round, by a mute trainer no less. It took everything to knock out her pokemon, yet he tossed them out like garbage. She trained so hard, and she was eliminated in the first round. She gets up and runs out, but not before letting a tear escape.

Timeskip

Ash was thinking of his victory. Misty was weak. She had strong pokemon lines, but were poorly trained. If Infernape had fallen, he'd plan to use his Swellow, then Gmax Snorlax if necessary. It was obviously not. He overestimated that girl's skill.

The protagonist is in his room currently looking at the next match ups. He was hoping to face a champion or Gary, but he knew that would be way later. A knock is heard, and when the door is opened, an orange haired girl is there. Her eyes are puffy, but steely eyed. " I wish for you to train me." Misty said. Instead of answering in telepathy or with sign, he just shook his head and slammed the door. Misty kept banging but he didn't answer the door.

The girl didn't give up, but Ash had his patience thin. He threw open the door and threw out a pokeball. Instead of his translator, one of his enforcers came out. A Gallade with a Mega stone wristband appeared, and instantly a night slash was at Misty's throat. "No means no. If you can beat one of my Pokémon in a battle, which you didn't, then I would. But you didn't, so leave. Before I make my enforcer here throw your dead corpse out." The voice rang in her head, and she realized it was Ash. She looked at him in amazement, before being thrown out by Gallade.
