CHAPTER 5
I woke up the next morning to someone pulling at my covers, persistant and incredibly annoying.
"Lily! Lily wake up! LILY!" Caiden's small voice yelled into my ear, startling me enough that I jumped, rolling out of the bed and landing on the floor painfully.
"Oh! Lily I'm so sorry, are you ok! Are you hurt?" Caiden's small voice turned panicky , but I just smiled and nodded slowly, my stiff neck cracking slightly at the movement.
"I'm fine, Caiden." I promised breathily, managing to stand up and brush my pajamas off. As soon as I told him I was okay he grinned, all traces of worry gone as he grabbed my hand and tugged.
"Come on! Almost everyone else is up already, even Fred and George! Come on, Santa came!" Caiden cried happily, pulling at my hand and leading me out the door. When I walked down the staircase and into the living room, I was amazed to see piles of presents covering the floor, all unopened and gleaming in the sunlight that passed through the windows.
"Oh." My voice was filled with awe as I followed Caiden the rest of the way down the stairs.
Tonks, Remus, Molly and Arthur were all sitting on the couch, Hermione sitting on the chair across from them while Fred, George, Harry, Ron, Ginny and Sirius were all sitting on the floor, pulling their presents around them into a circle.
"Lucy!" Caiden cried as Lucy jumped out from under the Christmas tree, her tail wagging excitedly.
"Merry Christmas, dear!" Mrs. Weasley said, getting up from the couch and hugging me, her face absolutely glowing and cheeks pinker than usual.
"Same to you, Mrs. Weasley." I smiled lightly, Finally Mrs. Weasley let me go, and I watched as Caiden started looking for his presents.
"Look! Here's one from you!" Caiden cried, as he picked up a large box, decorated with his initials, the wrapping paper itself a bright orange, Caiden's favorite color. I couldn't help but grin as Caiden opened the box up to reveal his flying carpet, the one Molly had pointed out to me while shopping the other day.
"Here's one for you, Lily." Mrs. Weasley said, handing me a light-weight package. Opening it up, I couldn't help but smile. Mrs. Weasley had knitted me a beautiful sweater, a dark red with a navy 'L' on the front of it. I let out a happy giggle, covering my hand with my mouth as I looked over at Mrs. Weasley.
"Thank you so much!" I beamed, and Mrs. Weasley nodded, moving back to her seat on the couch.
"It was no trouble dear."
"Ooh, this one's from Tonks!" Caiden said happily, pulling out a bad of Bertie Bot's every flavour beans and a whole assortment of other candies. that left me feeling wary.
"He's never going to sleep again." I groaned, but Caiden was thrilled, so much that he ran up and hugged Tonks before digging into his candy, only stopping to open another present. I could see Ron opening a book on the Chudley Canons out of the corner of my eye, will Harry was shifting through a bag of Berti Bot's every flavour beans, much like Caiden.
"This is for you." Sirius said, handing me a small package. Raising an eyebrow, I carefully unwrapped it, preparing to dive if anything shot out at me. Instead, i was amazed to find a small necklace, bearing a single round bright green stone in it. I looked up at Sirius.
"It's beautiful. I don't know what to say." I said, and Sirius grinned.
"I got the same thing for the first Lily the Christmas after Harry was born, and her reaction was about the same. It matches your eyes." Sirius said thoughtfully, and I nodded, putting it around my neck. I hung nicely, not being covered up by my shirt, or being a choker necklace. It was perfect.
