Evie's Pov

"Today we start the mental part of initiation" Tobias' voice booms through the already small room and his eyes haven't seemed to leave mine. "You'll be tried in a mindscape, to see if you truly are Dauntless material."

I don't let Tobias get under my skin. I don't need him to be there. I need to only think about one thing and it's being prepared for this.

~~Several Names Later~~

"Evelyn-"

"It's Evie" I cut Tobias off.

"Evelyn, since we are family Eric," Tobias pauses and takes a deep breath, "will be running your test."

"Come on bunny. We don't want to be stuck here all day." I quickly jog pass Tobias and Eric and into the room.

Once inside I sit down on the lab chair. On the small table next to me are several tubes of god-knows-what serum.

"You ready?" Eric asks filling a syringe. I nod quickly shifting in my seat.

I lean my head to the right and pull all of my hair off my neck.

"This is only going to hurt a bit." He says right before kissing my neck. As his lips leave my neck, I feel the needle go in and pull me into another world.

"Wake up" A Voice booms. I shake my head and open my eyes.

Darkness all I see is black. I hear heavy boots on the floor. I try to stand but can't. I try to move my arms but can't.

I feel ropes around wrist. And I hear the rustling of trees.

I rock back and forth in my chair. Finally it falls breaking the back to the chair.

I roll down a not very steep hill. Stopping at the bottom of the hill.

I open my eyes. I'm in a high rise tower with glass windows from the floor to the ceiling.

I quickly move to the banister knowing I won't have much time. I slide down the banister so I'm sitting down.

Before I can even breathe the ground starts shaking and I hear two body's fall to the ground.

The building starts leaning to the left. I grab hold of the banister hugging it tight.

"EVELYN," Tobias screams as he falls pass me.

"TOBY!" I scream right back reaching out for his hand. He grabs it and I hold on to the banister tightly.

"EVIE, BUNNY," Eric screams on the other side of me. I pull Tobias up so he can hold on to the banister.

"Thanks," He mumbles while I reach for Eric. I groan as I pull him up too.

"This banister isn't strong enough for the three of us." I say trying to hold both of their hands. "I love you"

I let go and I fall into water.
