Mistletoe

Maya's POV:

I woke up with a start gasping for air

I look to my left to see Riley had seen me and rushed over to my side

"What happen peaches??" She asks concerned

"I-I had this horrible nightmare-that it was Christmas and- HE- was there-" I shudder from goosebumps

I look to see Riley giggling "Maya you have this dream every year....."

My eyes widen and I look around to see that it was in fact Christmas morning

"Aww man....." I groan into Riley's pillow

"Maya, just give him a chance....."

"No! He's insane! He phycho!! A madman!!- shall I go on?!" I ask sarcastically

She smiles "Maya he loves you and this is his only time year that he can get you to kiss him....."

I sigh "last year he went all out.....he put the mistletoes......EVERYWHERE.."

She giggles once again "that was hilarious......."

I glare at her and she rolls her eyes playfully

"He even put it all over your house! Just to get me!" I argue

"That's adorable....." Riley counters

I give her a glare and ask "so your saying if Lucas put up mistletoes on every inch of your apartment ceiling just to get a kiss from you it doesn't sound creepy, obsessive, or weird to you??"

She thinks it over a second and sighs in defeat

I smile knowing I won

But my smile disappears as I ask a question

"Has he struck??" My eyes wide looking around the room in fear

Riley chuckles and says "why don't you come out and see?"

Huffing I get out of bed and get dressed and brush my teeth

"Thanks for letting me sleepover by the way Riley....." I say once spitting out the water I had gurgled in my mouth at the sink, whip Riley had been doing her hair

She smiles softly and replies with a "no problem peaches"

We finish our daily activities and step out into the living room

Well, Riley steps out, I tip toe around scared that he would strike at any given moment

"Maya your acting ridiculous he's not here......" Riley says watching my actions amusedly

I get up from my squatting position and huff while dusting myself off "I knew that......"

She looks at me with a brow raised "right"

I roll my eyes "alright what time is everyone coming??"

She checks her my little pony watch and smiled widely "any minute now"

I chuckle at her childishness and that's when we hear the knocking on the door

She squeals and opens the door revealing all our friends and more from school

"Welcome to our Christmas party everyone!!" Riley exclaims throwing her hands up happily

Everyone whoops and hollers as they enter the apartment

This year Riley's parents allowed us to throw a Christmas party while they visited Philly, but they would be back at night so we had to clean up before they got here or no more parties
