Invisible

"You are not invisible..."

When I say that I'm invisible, I don't mean that I'm invisible.
I know that doesn't make sense. I know it sounds selfish.
"How can you think you're invisible?"

I don't.

It's a metaphor you see, I'm merely invisible because I feel it.

It goes back to my first entry in "Deep Thoughts".

It's about being looked at and not really seen.

We've all seen thousands of people in our life time. But have you really seen them?

That older lady that works at your local grocery store.

The young man walking to school carrying books.

The young girl holding hands with her father.

When you looked at them, did you see their story too?

Probably not.

That's what I mean about being invisible.

Everybody always just assumes things about people.

When in reality they know nothing.

I'm invisible, you're invisible, your neighbors are invisible...

Because our society won't open their eyes and see past their own judgements.

You are not fat, you are brave.

You are not ugly, you are brilliant.

You are not alien, you are human.

Unfortunately this is the last entry for "Deep Thoughts". But I will be coming out with another book of poetry, it'll be called "Duende", I really hope you'll follow my poems there too ❤🌺.
