Fake

It doesn't hurt me that you're with another,
It doesn't hurt me that you found a new lover
It doesn't hurt me that you still smile like before,
It doesn't hurt that you've opened new doors

I doesn't hurt that you pushed me away,
It doesn't hurt that with my feelings you played
It doesn't hurt that she's perfect on the outside,
It doesn't hurt that all along you lied

It doesn't hurt that she's a Barbie doll,
It doesn't hurt that I'm nothing at all
It doesn't hurt that you're practically never there,
It doesn't hurt that you never cared

It doesn't hurt that she's better than me,
It doesn't hurt that she's sweet and pretty
It doesn't hurt that I'm still thinking about you,
It doesn't hurt that you don't have a clue.

It doesn't hurt that she's a popularity queen,
It doesn't hurt my self esteem
But you know what hurts, more than heartbreak?
Just like her, you've become fake.

I knew you'd fall for her someday. It was unavoidable. She has the perfect image set out for herself in this world.

But the one thing I never expected was for you to fall for her image and not the beautiful girl inside.

I knew she was fake all along.
I just never thought you'd be too.

A/N I know I'm getting back in the sad-heartbreak-poetry-phase right now, but I quite like it ;)
It's interesting to imagine people's feelings during different stages of a relationship.

Well, I hope you liked it, and can possibly relate!
Thanks for reading Candid, it really means a lot to me ❤
