SKYLAR DIDN'T KNOW HOW LONG she had been in the restroom crying for, until she heard a knock on the door. she quickly wiped away her tears with the long sleeves of charlie's hoodie, she stood up, and walked over to the sink, she splashed water on her face, to see if it would make her puffy eyes go away, but sadly it didn't
"sky" a voice calls from behind the door. her voice hitched, her stomach tightened. a knock came from the door "sunshine"
she looked at herself once more in the mirror "you're fine" she whispers softly before walking towards the restroom door and unlocking it. she came face to face with none other than charlie
he had a worried look on his face "you okay?" he questioned immediately
"yeah, why wouldn't i be?" skylar questioned
"well for starters, your eyes are all puffy. and when i was in the booth, you weren't on the couch, they said you've been in here for thirty minutes" charlie said softly
skylar looked down to the ground before looking back to his eyes. "it's nothing, i'm fine" she said as she gave him a forced smile
charlie didn't want to pressure her into telling him, he only hoped that one day she would be ready to tell him. with one of his hands, he pushed back a strand of her hair, before pulling her into him
skylar was a bit taken back, but nonetheless, she wrapped her hands around his waist and laid her head on his chest
"if you love someone, you tell them" her fathers voice echoed in her head. she pushed her head up, as charlie looked down to her, she was about to say something, but then decided against it considering the two were in the restroom
but one thing is for sure,
she finally let her emotions in....

once charlie finished recording unsaid emily. the rest of the producers left, leaving the two alone to finish up their song
"so, from reading the script this is when julie realizes she's fallin for luke" skylar starts as charlie was playing the tone they came up with
he nods "i was thinking, since luke is a ghost and julie is a lifer, they're two different people from two different worlds"
she sees his point "two worlds colliding"
he quickly points to her. "yes!" he says before playing the tone "two worlds collide when i'm with you"
"wait, we need something before that" skylar mentions "the truth is finally showing?" she questions "no that doesn't make sense" she sighs
"oh oh oh!" charlie exclaims in excitement "the truth is finally breaking through" he sings in a tone
"two worlds collide when i'm with you our voices rise and soar so high we come to life when we're—
"in perfect harmony" charlie cuts her off as the two sung along
skylar smiled softly as she shook her head "okay, let's go back to verse 1 and add a few things so it can transition to the 1st pre-chorus"
the two scrolled to the top of their notes, charlie started playing the beginning of the tone, as he began to sing "step into my world bittersweet love story about a girl shook me to the core voice like an angel, i've never heard before here in front of me shining so much brighter than i have ever seen"
"bittersweet love story about a girl" skylar repeated "here, we're taking about julie"
"in luke's perspective" charlie caught on
"what was the first thing you found out about julie's character?" skylar questioned him
"ok, um. s-she lost her mother" charlie recalled
"how'd that make you feel?" she questioned
he furrowed his eyebrows, but answered nonetheless "sad"
"why?" she questioned
"it made me think, how can life be so mean" he replied
"there you go" skylar chuckled "shining so much brighter than i have ever seen life can be so mean" she sung
"i got chu... how do you feel about us?" he questioned
skylar's heart stopped for a second, before she pulled herself together. "i-i- um" she chuckled softly. she stood quiet before looking up to him. thinking about the first time they've met, until now. "well, considering, i'm your acting coach, we've been stuck together" she teases as charlie chuckled. "i- i get so use to being with you, that when we aren't together it feels like you still haven't left"
"i never want to leave" he shrugs
a light bulb went off in skylar's head "p-play the tone" she points to charlie. as he begins playing she starts singing "but when he goes, i know he doesn't leave"

she scrolled through the verses on her notes "the bridge, we need to add one or two more lyrics so i can flow with the chorus"
he nodded as he played the tone and sang the lyrics they already had "i feel your rhythm in my heart, yeah you are my brightest, burning start, woah-woah"
"when luke sings with julie, how does that make luke feel?" skylar questioned him
charlie stayed quiet, he thought back to the times the two sang together. how when they're together their melody and words fit together like a perfect harmony
"we're heaven on earth, melody and words when we are together we're in perfect harmony" he sang lowly as he looked up to skylar
the truth is, charlie wasn't thinking about luke and julie, he was thinking of him and the girl right in front of him
skylar smiled and immediately loved the lyrics. she smirked at the thought of his previous question, so she thought it was her turn to ask now. "how do you feel about us?" she questioned
charlie immediately looked up to her. he stood quiet for a second before answering. "i never knew a love so real"
