I looked down at her sleeping body that resided in my arms.
Her blonde hair covering her face as she nuzzled herself in my chest. I caressed her head gently, she's beautiful when she's asleep.
I really wish I could love her the way I loved Maddie, I really wish I could get over my feeling for Maddie, I really wish I could move on.
But how do you get over the love of your life when you never got to tell her how much you loved her?
How do you get over the fact that the source of your happiness isn't here anymore?
How do you get over the fact that the one person who seemed like they loved life actually didn't want to live anymore?
And it's your fault for not seeing the signs.
"Dar?" Liz's voice spoke quietly "Yes Liz" "Do you love me"
"Yes, I love you Liz" "Why?" "Why what?"

I sighed
"Because we're both miserable Liz, and misery loves company" she looked up at me, I met her gaze
"I'm sorry I can't be your Maddie" I smiled sadly "I'm sorry I can't be your Lucas" she gave me the same sad smile
It was quiet for a few minutes as we both looked outside her window at the rain pouring down.
"Do you think we'll ever get over them?" she asked not removing her gaze from the rain
"Maybe one day a special person will come along and we get the same feeling with them like we did with Maddie and Lucas. I think that's when we'll finally be able to move on"
